6 calls from a chute?
« on: March 16, 2001, 12:33:00 PM »
Anyone know if the 6 call feature works from a chute?  I had an exellent bounce on two Ta-152s that were fixated on a high Lanc.  I came in behind on and blew him apart.  He bailed right away.  I got within 500 yards of the other, just below (in his blind spot) when he jinked then dove away... only providing me with a snapshot that fortunately caused his engine to smoke and encouraged him to egress as opposed to stay high and fight a fighter that he had outclassed.

Me thinks he might have gotten a "check 6" from a chute.  Even if he didn't.. the question still remains... should it be possible?  I understand they can still use RW or the comms... but what about for this specific function?

AKDJV,

Yes, this funtion works from chutes - BUT only for the Knights. I have used this with my squaddies and fellow Knights. (I seem to spend a lot of time in chutes.)

It's enough, for me, that I have seen chutes hover outside a field for a sortie or two. Stupid Spies! Shoot 'em!

So I guess the operative question becomes - How about six calls *for* a chute?

Well. There has been a long standing call for a feature to seriously kill the keyboard for when you are in a chute. It's about the only way to mimic the total isolation, besides the time honoured hand/finger salutes, one has when dangling beneath the silk.

So until that day I take matters in my own hands. I shoot them with the smallest calibre gun I have.

And then if we ever do get that featur, well then the practice of chute shooting can revert back to being a pure sport.

I still say it game or no game killing players with no weapon hanging defenslessly in a damn parachute means you have something wrong with your mind...somewhere deep in that black pit of a mind the player has thought 'oooh  look at that <brain kicks in> defenceless KILL IT DEFENCELESS NO RISK TO ME KILL IT!!!!'
LOL
see what i mean ? admit it you just like killing little fluffy rabbits
and this means you are a popsicle!

I spend long hours practicing on grunts.   A poorly dropped group can all be shot with a single round!

Defenceless? He can always alt-F4 and get the same perks! Kill him before he goes to DOS!
