Mindanao is a good map, except that it concentrates the action too much towards the center.

good post!
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

I have to say it.

The central africa map is great for lone wolves, but it discourages teamwork by spreading people out.

It has too many gv spawns that kill you instantly and many more that ae useless due to extreme hills , not enough roads, bad positioning for hq, too many hills in what is supposed to be the ground vehicle area, bad spawns for pt boats, too many bad high alt base configs(what WAS the point of making a high alt base that bombers can't take off from anyway?) not enough water for large naval battles/areas to hide cvs...

I could go on but overall I must vote bad map.

I LOVE the map because I like my 3 hours bombing runs without alot of fighters after me, but as a team-based game map I hjave to vote bad map.

Sorry. Hey, at least I like it :)

Aydo, you're wrong about akdesert.

The small maps are the ones that require the least teamwork.  They're small enough that a team will spread out over the entire front line.  Fighting in the same place doesn't mean teamwork.  They require the least teamwork, since whereever you go there will be plenty of people blindly attacking.

Taking bases on akdesert alone is easy, but winning it requires significant teamwork.  Players need to not only fly side by side, they need to coordinate with each other.

There are two groups of people who really get screwed on akdesert.  The furballers who believe that the bigger the furball, the better.  And the la7 pilots. :P  Though even on akdesert, there is almost always a good furball available.

For people who prefer smaller fights, on the order of 10vs10 or smaller, the other maps can't even come close.

My "team" of me and 2 of my squad mates took 5 fields tonight.

Milkrunning 100 bases does not need teamwork. Hitting the final nail in the coffin (last 20 or so bases) does. But, then you would have the size of the other maps.

Winning pie map does not require alot of teamwork at all, until the very end when the size of one country is reduced to that of other maps. The teams spread out so far that it only takes a few people to take multiple bases in key areas, paving the way for a reset.

Also, there was a post I read saying "pie map is unreal", and a picture of central africa was shown in rebuttal. The picture (from high ) looked alot like the pie map.

WHEN DO WE GET NEW MAPS?!?! Did anyone see the post ages ago from Nuttz, when he created some of his own terrains? I think HTC needs to add some new terrains in the next release or at least consider doing something about it in the near future. It would greatly add to the gameplay and immersion.

Unscientific poll.  I never took the poll, yet when I click the hypertext, it tells me I have.

Rigged no doubt.

Listen, if you DON'T like the pizza map, quite 'cher whining and get off your dead ass, and MAKE ONE, then submit it to HTC.  I think what the AK's did was a good thing, trying to contribute to the community.  If you don't like it, make a better one. period.

I like pizza map! I look forward to more maps being added! Should this map stay in the rotation? Of course it should! Resets should not take hours they should take days, and squads should not be able to jump ship from country to country every time the wind changes direction! Unless you live in France! :p

They're all good maps.  I log on to take bases not to piss and moan.

My fellow Rooks can back me up on that too.

What Ripsnort said.

Fortunately the maps are different, and hence influence the way we play. Otherwise it would get boring quick.
