thats fake.

That guy could not hold a tarpon that weighed as much as himself.

But I think the secret of the Mindano is the fact that the country in the East never loses. And the two island bases in the North, A8 is one i beleive.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

mindanao is a great map for the west and the north countries.  Those two get to have great fun at the expense of the southern country.

An EXCELLENT furballl map.  Fun terrain to fly in.  But a horrible strategic layout.

That's a real photo - you can tell by the shadow on the hull and the way the skin blends into the water.

They should do something to even out the balance of the bases.  I think they should introduce the carrier-eating tarpon as a new perked gv.

Its a cool map,  I always enjoy it.

True it doesnt have real good balance between countries,  But since AH rotates the countries starting spots, it doesnt really matter.

One time your in the spot of strength, next on the weak side,  Its up your country to attempt to master it from your starting position.

If that pic were real, then surely the combined weight of the tarpon AND the guy supposedly holding it would cause the boat to list in the direction of the camera.

The size of the fishing pole looks way to little haul a 180-200 lb tarpon in.

Plus, the both men holding would prolly be in the water fighting it.
If that tarpon is real and was safe enough to hold like that, It must of entailed a fight too long to count the hours on two hands.

Why is the man holding the pole act af he is already began to fish, Or have slack on his line. Why isnt he helping his friend, wrestling the beast into the boat.

rofl... lmao... sigh.........   Amazing how many different "bites" one can get with the right "bait", even if he might not be seriously "fishing".  :D WTG Pongo.... I say you win Happy Angler of the Week.  And I second gofaster's Carrier Muncher idea... I can just see it now... "Uh.. Captain.... there seems to be a rather large fish approaching off the Port bow."  "You mean we have a torpedo in the water inbound son!!??"  "No Sir... I mean a FISH!"   "AAAARGGHHH... ALL HANDS ABANDON SHIP OR WE'RE ALL JUST CHUM!!!"  Not to mention, would be fun circling above the fleet, watching the departing carrier aircraft getting snapped out of the air like bugs on the water.  ;)

My guess is this is real, the shadows look right, the boat is listing to one side indicating weight.   Look at the size of the line in that guys hand, looks like 50lb test line (if there is such a thing) and look at the size of the reel.

Ok, I only have MS Paint at work but on closer examination I am prepared to eat my words.

Looks cut and paste to me now.

where I circled looks like pasted there, also note the shadow man's face holding the rod appears like the sun is behind him, and shadow on man holding fish the sun is in front of him.

not saying the picture is real. but his leg is just twisted and the shadow of  his long bill hat covers his face even though the sun is above and in front of him. thats why they have long bill hats. look at the shadow of his hat on his chest...

once again..the fish do exist the fly rod record for them is near 250 pounds... maybe these guys broke it...lol

The sun is above the people, not behind them; look at the shadow under the right gunwale and the shading (but not shadowing) of the port side of the seat structure. The disproportionate look of the fisherman's legs is due to artifacting from severe JPEG compression, which renders it almost impossible to detect artifacting from photo editing.

On the other hand, the shadows are consistent across the entire image; part of the confusion seems to stem from the fact that the man hauling the tarpon out of the water is not standing upright -- he is leaning back to use his weight to help get the fish into the boat. The fin on the left side of the fish is also elevated above the level of the deck, distorting the perceived position for its shadow; between the man leaning back and the elevated position of the tarpon fin, the shadows create the impression that the left figure has been pasted in from another image.

A completely accurate evaluation of the image will probably not be possible without getting a copy of the image before it was compressed into a .jpg format.
