Anyone else got jets streaking around overhead?

I've lived hear about a year and the only time I've heard anything like it is when the blue angels were flying.

There isn't an airshow today so I'm wondering what it is about..sure is noisy.

It's overcast but I did see two medium sized jets in formation slowing down and dropping out of the clouds..

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed any increased activity?

Nothing here in Tucson near Davis Monthan AFB. The sky is devoid of activity.

Nutin on the news either.

A farmer in Wales got so fed up of low flying RAF aircraft he wrote "PISS OFF BIGGLES" in big red 10 foot high letters on the roof of one of his barns.

Of course, said barn then became a nav point for just about every military flight in the UK  :D

The last release of UK terrain in the military simulators includes the barn and it's 'friendly' message because so many pilots started using it.  So now you know how to attract low flying military flights... Enjoy!

No... that's just the only place EA-6s are still flown that I know of.  I'm suprised you don't see them more often.

I work near the North end of the runway at March ARB. Get an airshow regularly. One neat thing I've noticed is my ability to identify the usual planes by sound.

C-141's, KC-135's or KC-10's, C-130's, F-16's are most common. C-17's or C-5's less often.

We also have a local contingient of the CAF flying a formation of four T-6's. They practice 1x per week at least.

I usually go look now only when something sounds different.

The real fun happens when there is an airshow at the base. The fly-in of planes all week makes work impossible.

Crack a beer sit back and enjoy the sound of freedom baby.

And make sure and tell your kids not to worry because everything that's allowed to fly works for the good guys. :)
