Hi,

I have been asking questions here before and was planning to test AH free trial but could never get connected. I am flying another simulator but is getting a little bit bored by the flight models at the moment. I used to be very good at BnZ but now the flight model has made it impossible to be effective.

Is the AH flight models as realistic as possible or is it arcade-like?

How many people is normally online during European time zone?

Mornings during Weekdays there are about 80-120 people online.

Weekday Evenings, there are about 300 - 400 people online.

And on Weekends there are 400+ people online.

European times i think most people play in the morning, but im not sure.

And to answer your other question the flight models are as accurate as possible. No easy mode.

Some like the FM here, some like WB's. Thats why we fly what we fly. DL both and you make the decision.

Good point Rip I totally agree.

I did actually download AH and tried it in offline mode. Graphics is not even close to FA but flight model is very nice and i like all the features except maybe the fact that it seems like there is no padlock.

Unfortunately both times i tried to register an account my system hang and i had to reboot. hmmmm dont really know what to do now but i guess i try later.

There's a padlock, but it isn't the lax version most games use. Here it'll break lock when the plane that's padlocked disappears behind a wing or the cockpit.

Either way, it's split 50/50 as to how "realistic" a padlock is.

I wouldn't know about the advanced mode, but I imagine it's just the easy-mode FM with "stalls" included. May not necessarily be a formula for the stalls or spins though, they just may happen if you pull the stick too far. Either way, there's rarely anyone in the advanced rooms.

I flew both WBIII and AH.

My WBIII account was cancled before the end of the first month.

In terms of flight models, I dont think you will find anything better elsewhere. If your a "BnZ'er" this is your home.

Hi,

I finally realized that it was my firewall that stopped me from getting online.

Having flying FA I have only one word for the AH flight model and that is wow!!!!!!

I LOVE it!!!!

Now i have to get into grip with the key and joystick commands. I have not yet got padlock to work but that could be because i have been in the training arena where everyone seems to be in the same team. I dont know how it locks.

I really love the graphics in FA 3.0, which is the best i have ever seen in an online sim but i still have to say that the AH ground graphics is still very good. The fact is that where FA graphics really rocks is the planes while AH ground details is better and much more interesting than FA.

At the moment it looks like ole Zipper will give AH a real chance, i am going to sign up and learn how AH really works.

Most people here are split on whether padlock is a good thing or not. If you have a beefy enough joystick mapping the views to a hatswitch and the "up" view to a readilty available bottom and you'll have manual views licked in no time. I learned on that back in the AH beta days and I've never used padlock since it was introduced. Again it comes down to what your preference is, but with a little practice with the view system I think you'll be better off not using the padlock IMHO.

Zipper press ctrl tab to allow target selection of friendlys. Then tab selects both enemy and friendly.
