I thought I said it's not a disco.
If so, I will say "My ISP is crap" or "Server is porked".

I just crash to desktop suddenly when running Aces High.

About 2 weeks ago I started to CTD about 5 mins after i'd log back into AH.      Now i can barely get away from a base without CTD , pretty annoying.  :(

Have you tried stepping down the sound hardware acceleration?

Are you overclocked?  If so, set to default and try that.

Have you tried running AH with system sound shut off?

No, I don't.

Nope. How can I do it?

Go to sound in control panel... disable it (don't delete anything, just disable sound).  Should be able to get to it from hardware device manager under "system" in control panel also.

Tumor,

I tried to disable SB Live! in Device Manager,
but Aces High can't run without Sound...
I got "Initialization failed" error.

I got another CTD last night in the middle of a fight. Funny thing was that it also took out a few squaddies at the same time. We were in a furball near A4 and had been engaged for some time. There was no freeze or hickup, just an instant drop out of the game. The internet connection was solid according to my ADSL monitor. No errors noted. When I came back on at least 2 others in my squad were dumped at the same time.

I average at LEAST one CTD per evening that I play. The second CTD in the evening is the last as I do not relog. At this rate I am paying more than a dollar an hour per moonth to play. This product is not getting better it's still buggy.

I have formatted the HD, rerloaded all fresh latest drivers for the system, vid card and trhe SB16 sound card. I got the CTD's even with the default winblows SB drivers as well. I download a fresh install of AH after every patch as the auto patch invariably screws the files for the game. I've rubn out of ideas to fix this and am about out of patience with a product that does not deliver. The bug forum is nice but you don't get a reply from HTC there, just comments from other players. Makes you think it's not monitored since few look at it.

Nose Art might be suspect in a CTD.

Yes...Fester told me it.

I got 2 CTDs in Fariz's mission today.
After I deleted all squad's bmps in the squad folder, and rejoined his mission, I didn't get a CTD.

HT, will you check it?
It might cause my BAD CTDs...

Thanks.

Same here at least once per day. At tower or flying, no matter. The game simply closes itself without any error message.

BTW, no overclock here and this only happens with Aces High.

Uh, and sound card already running in normal setting.

Here's what I found...

If I overclock my video card, I get a LOT of CTD all the time, anywhere...

If I don't overclock my video card, I only get the odd CTD when I try to fly a plane from the Hangar.
