The curse of filming, and autofilming
« on: September 19, 2002, 08:09:43 AM »
I don't know if it's just me, but it seems anytime I hit the old alt-R, I'm bound to get killed by someone while not looking, or fly into the ground, or simply run out of gas looking for something to shoot at.  How many times have you finished a fight, and said to yourself, "DAMN I wish i had recorded that!"  How about a system to stop these problems?

Any chance we can get some kind of auto-film?  The game would automaticly record every sortie, with an option to save the film after the sortie ends.  It wouldn't need to be an annoying popup window, just a button under the setup screen or something.

Then again, there is the possibility that instead of eliminating my being cursed by recording, it could cause it to simply become permanent. :D

lol inominate it happens to me too ! :)

especially when i intend to make a film for an AVI.Always die like a fool! :)

maybe theres a way to bind the alt r to your trigger?

wouldnt that turn on your cammera when you fire?

or how about when you press the gear/wheels button? that would film each sortie from wheels up to landing approach.

dunno if it can be done but it might be worth looking into.

You could use any programmable flight controller to do this.  I have a macro that sets some flight options every time I start the engine.

It could also start filming, but then I'd be cursed and die like a dog.  :)

I dont think auto film is the answer but I would like to see a save or delete film screen after ending filming. That way if you wanted to run film all the time you could but could dump it if you didnt see or do anything worth saving. Allso would be nice to name films saved I:E: great high yoyo film etc etc. Would make using films as training much easier. I have tons of films but hardly ever go tru them cause it would take for ever hmm lets see what was the date and time I had that great 1v1 fight pony killing la7 with alt advantage.
