Can someone (skuzzy maybe) splain this to me
« on: September 22, 2002, 12:26:28 PM »
I thought the O club was an "Open forum for off-topic and less serious discussions".

If that is true, as it's posted, I wonder why Skuzzy locked the thread here called "a plea to voss" with this message:

"Again, I really thought this was a forum for the discussion of Acesh High, in general."

I realize this is a company owned board and skuzzy is the big dog and can lock anything he wants to and whether I agree with that approach matters not a fart in a whirlwind but....... seems to me that thread fit in the described parameters of the O club, ergo the reason given for locking the thread is not valid.

Well, I should have edited my message.  I had originally posted that when the thread was in the General Forums.

I then moved the thread, but forgot to change my post.  I will do so now.

can't you just move it to some non-visible thread? or simply delete it?  why go thru all the trouble to move it and then lock it, or vice versa? why not simply just lock it there, delete it, or as i first suggested, move to a non-visible thread?

I don't think HTC deletes threads, as a policy.

One word why that thread was locked- "libel."

I think all of us know what is and is not acceptable conduct on the bbs. Good call, Skuzzy, and I guess you can add "babysitter" to your job description now.

BTW- Thank God I'm not under the same scrutiny a staffer is whenever a thread gets locked, a pilot gets squelched or a post gets deleted. Immediately there's a thousand posts about injustice and calls for the scalp of whichever staffer has to administer the "discipline." Doesn't sound like a fun job to me.

Thanks skuzzy. If I might, one more question. Are you allowed or willing to say why you locked this thread. It seems OK in the O club to me.

The only difference between a brown noser and an bellybutton kisser is depth perception.  ;)

Hey MT, Just because I can see past the obvious and recognize that not only is the staff at Hi Tech Creations an extremely good looking group but they are also exceptionally intelligent and even handed in their treatment of us, the consumer, does not make me an bellybutton kisser or a brown noser. And if you call me that again I'll sue you.

Well I think Skuzzy locked this thread due to the ensuing blood bath. I mean... how could any of us, the ill-read, compete with the intellectual prowess of one "Buzzard". I mean..this is an individual whom has decided that the mastery of "Dune" is quite an accomplishment.

I read Frank Herbet....a LONG time ago and it simply didn't impress me enough to remember much about it.

I will decide if and when to defend a squad mate myself whether you approve or not.

I am not Telepathic.... except w/my dog. We, being ill read, are very alike in many aspects.

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

Oh sure the AH staff may be God-like in their knowledge and they all may have posed for the "After" pictures at the Beverly Hills Plastic Surgury Clinic, but that is no reason to kiss up to the degree I've seen here. Sickening, just sickening!

The art of knowing what to kiss, and when to kiss it, has taken me far in life.

I stopped reading the Dune series after "Pocket Weazels of Dune", very disappointing book.

I love when you baby seals get that gleam of righteous anger in yer eyes and try to flame someone. Specifically it would be more accurate if you said guess rather than "think" since you are so demonstrably ill equipped for the latter endeavor. BTW , it's who, not whom (sorry to ruin your attempt at erudition) and no one mentioned a mastery of Frank Herbert, simple comprehension would have saved you from the faux pas you're trying so desperately to cover now.

Which of course says far more about you than you intended.

How sweet, now the baby seal is making up stuff to argue with. Nowhere did I express either approval or disapproval. I simply commented on the fact of it. Covering for a squadmate is admirable, even when the attempt is as inept as yours.

Cool. Do you lay around and lick your balls as well? Crap in the backyard ? Have fleas ? Jeebus, whata straight line.
