There have been observed lately a weird kind of bug.
It looks like an induced warp, always to benefit the jumping player.
Have no proofs at the moment, but it happens so currently that I will have them sooner than later.

The suspecting warps usually occur when you are in an adventage position to the warper, who suddenly jumps to your  o'clock and then the warps magically ends and he can kill you smooooothly.

When seeing this I have checked my Net Status and it was quite good.
No other player warped.
In the beginning I thought it was coincidence, but after several times I'm sure this is on purpose.
HT & Co should do something about this.

Post your film.  If enough people see the same person do it consistantly maybe we can nail the bugger.

I've noticed this a couple of times latley.  I got on the tail of a Pony the other day and everything was running smooth as silk, I was glued to this guy and slowly gaining for good fireing distance, just about the time I was roughly 400ft away and began fireing...the Pony started a right hand turn and suddenly warped to my 3 oclock.  Net status show'd good and NONE of the other 3 or 4 aircraft in the area where warping at all.

I just saw the same deal. B17 looks like it's cruising along, couple of us dive towards it. At range 1K, it vanishes. I mean gone.

Shoulda had camera running.

Weirder then that, I usually get dumped after getting hits from Flak Panzers. Today, though, I hit the ground. It felt good to stay online for once!

I roll film on every engagement.

Most of the warping I've seen in AH has occured just as I was squeezing the trigger.  Since I don't believe that someone has both ESP and the ability to intigrate that with lag timing issues, I have started believing that this is just one of the most succeptable times to see signs of a shaky connection (on your end or his).

Its just happened too many times with too many pilots to be anything other than an anomaly.

If I see it happen and I get the kill, I let the pilot know he was warpy.  If I don't get the kill, I don't say anything.  I hate the idea of getting on channel 1 and making excuses... or sounding like I'm making accusations of wrongdoing.

I'm on a Pac*Bell DSL line - very good connects to just about everything. I hadn't even gotten to squeeze the trigger yet on the 17 - it sure looked like some kind of warp decoy move.

S!

Had a warp kill yesterday too.The fight was 109G-6(me) against a Pony-D.He used good tactics and kept me low,but after a while I was behind him and then he seemed to crash on the ground at my 11oc while turning to right.I thought he was a goner, but no kill was awarded. As I turned away, my plane was shaking of pings and there the same P51D was shooting at me on my 6!!I managed to avoid him with loss of flap and the fight continued. Finally I stalled and he got me,but the warping thing buggers me.Running on ADSL and net status was good.

Lately I have veery bad connection. Uh, well best "normal" ping time is about 330ms and no lost packs with 56k modem. Things seems go prety well until jumps go to US side.

Ping time is 550-1200ms, LPs almost every 10-20s and some totally cutouts to HTC. Yesterday evening I was flying in TA and see there annoying warpping (me 2) and at last I get disco right after merge with Voss.

Strange days lately.

Maybe I'm the exception to the rule, but in five years of flying against some very, very good opponents in both Air Warrior and Aces High, I have never once noticed anything that seemed out of the ordinary.

That is to say, I never once killed someone or lost a fight where I thought, "Geez, what a cheater!" or "That has GOT to be a cheat."  I never once noticed a warp that seemed too convenient or a move that seemed improbable.

Call me silly that way.

I had the experience yesterday,i was chasing
a 109,,,and it was like this fellow just  waited to make his "jump",,i meen hi was just hanging there, and when i was ready to open up at  about 300 yards,he just vanished
in the thin air.
I think this stunt is on purpose,,,so whenever we meet a easy kill, lets record it,
so we can naoil this sod.

DoK the guy probably did the ALT F4 exit to "save himself" from the mean ole fighter pilots that were boring in on em. He simply exited the game and in actuality disappeared.

How about this from last night:

I was diving in getting ready to launch rockets on an Ostwind... one of two within 1k of each other.  Suddenly he warped backwards about 500 yards right as I was about to salvo the ordinance.  I immediately pulled up and thought "WHAT THE HELL?!" and looked over my shoulder to see the ostwind wapr back to his original position.

At that time I also noticed the other ostwind warp exactly the same ammount... in exactly the same direction.  Both Ostwinds were immobile at the time.

Obviously, something was corrupted at the packet level.  This either occured out of HTC's server or en route from there.  Had it been just the one Ostwind, many would have found it "too convenient".  I found it to be either a bug on HTC's server or the way of the net.

I guess I wish more people would think of that before saying "You Golly-gee cheater" on channel 1.
