Fuel-loadouts in hangar...
« on: September 05, 2000, 10:20:00 AM »
Hi there, esp. HT!

I have some problems with the fuel-loadout in the hangar. It happened often to me lately and since today i think theres a bug (previous times i thought it was my stupidity   ):

It seems to change to 25% fuel every time i change something in the loadout, even if i change from no DT to one or two DTs. Well, this could be intentionally, although i think its not too usefull - AH should save the last selected fuel-loadout like it works with bombs.

But today i had the problem, that i changed external loadout (not fuel), and watched what happened to the internal fuel. It stayed at 100%, just as it should. I clicked the barrels for 100% (just to be sure) and tooks off. OK, so far so good.
After dropping the DT, i had 25%fuel left internally. I have not used the manual fuel-switching-thingy so it could not have happened that i used internal fuel first. I am pretty sure that i clicked the 100%-barrels, so there should be a bug somehow.

I flew a p47-d30 btw - there were fuel-problems earlier, when it was released, right?

Well, either way, plz someone tell me what to do if it isnt a bug, or else plz hitech, fix it...

all right, laters all

Most of the birds have multiple fuel tanks.  If you're starting to wonder about your fuel state, use shift+f to cycle your fuel tanks.  When you get A-XX in the fuel gauge window the auto management system is on.

I had a weird thing happen to me yesterday also. I don't recall this ever happening but it may just be that I skipped my meds yesterday...

I tried to loadout from a field that wouldn't let me have anything over 50% fuel so after clicking the box to get rid of it I went back to the tower and moved to another base that didn't have any restrictions. After TO and climbout I spotted my target 1/2 grid away and dropped my external tank and was shocked to find that instead of 100% fuel, my normal loadout, I had only 25%...needless to say, my plans for that sorte were drasticly changed and I used the small fuel load to get into some close turn fighting...I'm gonna be checking fuel loadout much more closely in the future.

You guys are doing 'shift-F' as Cave pointed out right?  Depending on the plane, you may have wing tanks, center tanks, etc. internally, and with 50%, it may be distributed within these internal tanks.

Hey!

First: thx to all the advices, but i knew about the shf-f tank-switch, and i knew that a plane has usually more than one fuel tank, internally speaking, drop tanks must be added.

But there still was only 25% fuel left. I just dont know whyy this happens all the time to me, but i am considering a simple reinstall of AH, since i am not seeing my squaddies in orange when squad-hilight turned on.

NO I AM NOT BUSTED FROM THE SQUAD!!!

At least im still in the members list and i didnt hear of such ideas

Well, but i still would appreciate to hear if someone had this problem else, esp. in p47-d30, which seems to be the plane for me in which it happens...

ok, but thx all

This has happened to me - clicking on a fuel amount and finding out that you have less than you thought when in the air.

I worked it out though - when you click on say 100% and then click on one of the runway directions, this button is sometimes over the fuel barrels (depending on the position of the clipboard, of course). Consequently, not only do you go to the runway, you accidently change the fuel amount (without knowing). For some reason the mouse clicks to the clipboard can transfer to screen below - hence the mysterious changes in fuel load. Try it, it does work. Now when I load up, i make sure the runway button is not over a fuel barrel. Try this with the La5 (one fuel tank) to see the results.

Hope that helps.
