Don' think that would be part of the rules..Kieran wants to tear it to shreds.

Keiran

Ok, I'll take a stab at it... you don't even have the confidence in yourself or the game to write anything more than the most generic piece of fluff that said virtually nothing. You did surprise me and didn't at the same time; you did and didn't write a review. Taking a critical view of your critical view tells me you are purposely obfuscating, much the same as you do in any conversation you've had here. Before you ask "Where have I obfuscated?" just pick a spot anywhere in this thread where a post is headed "Hardcase

So, I will write a review.

Is it within the rules if I invite everyone whose review you've challenged to challenge your review?

The challenge was dropped at my request. I don't have the right to ask someone to post competitive material on this service.

Kieran, I understand you asked me to drop it..but do realize I would have never posted a full review on this BBS. Contrary to popular belief I do have some idea the lines that can and cannot be crossed. You didnt pick up on my 2 weeks it will be out line.

Remember, I tried to back out the first time you challeged me. When you didnt drop it, I thought I would give you want you think you wanted. When it became clear that it would not be something lite but involved and done with skill, things seem to change.

It was never going to happen. I just wanted to see how long it would take for you to realize, it was not a good idea.

However I am thinking about doing one and putting it on on my piss poor web page.

No, Hardcase, that isn't the case at all, but I am not going into it again. Put it on your site and we can do this if you like. I sincerely don't think I have the right to invite someone to post competitive information on this BBS. I don't own the service. I used to run a BBS, and wish I still did at this point. I guarantee you I can do to your review what you have done to others' reviews- deny, minimalize, deflect. But why not let it drop now? I gave you the last word, and you can have the inevitable last word in this one with your next post if you choose. At any rate, I am not going to enter another 450+ thread that gets nowhere.

Let's say it this way- if someone asks my opinion about WWIIOL, I'll tell them to wait a year or so. IF the game is still around, visit the BBS and read carefully. Take to heart what the players themselves are saying, good and bad. Pay special attention to the persistant threads on a persistant topic, because it is almost certainly a true gripe. If it looks like something you can put up with, then and only then plunk your money down. Even then, don't be foolish enough EVER to pay ahead. If you cancel, watch your credit card billing for a few months afterwards. In fact, watch your credit card billing if you stay. This company has a pretty bad history on many accounts, so your blood is on your own head if you sign up.

Lets see..how it began.

hardcase

reread the post..My review prolly would be as biased as yours.
read the pc game review

Keiran

In case you skip over this, I will repeat it for you.

Since you are not happy with our reviews, write a WWIIOL review of your own.

Can you find the question now?

Hardcase

Waiting on my leaping to your suggestion to do what you did? No thanks. I know better

Kieran.

Wait... I do get it now. You know that if you write a real review, and state anything specific, I'll rip it to shreds. Righto. And all I'll have to do is tell the truth- or expose the half-truths you are telling

Hardcase

You really want to start this over..Ok..I will probably have a complete one in a week or two. It will probably be quite long and involved. At least when you try to rip it to shreds in your mind, you will actually have to work at it. Perhaps get an account for a month. Wonder how you will review the graphic engine and Bofor etc

You brought this on when I tried to avoid it.

I can also keep rre-posting all the ideas I had for a full review. How you wanted me to review this version when a new one is coming out in a week. After I had decided to even add pictures, did you suddenly decide you didnt have the right to invite. I always knew I did not have the right to post a review in here.

After reading how you are using this ubiquitous "review" threat as a some kind of club in that other thread, against people that have no part of our argument, I say go ahead and write it and post it on your host. I eagerly await it. If you think I am not up to the challenge, you are soooo wrong. Include lots of pictures, I will enjoy them as well. Describe in detail how everything "works".

As for the above quotes, it is about half the conversation (typical of you).

Half?  Post it all. Give up the idea of a review;) no matter what I say about posting one. You will have to by a mag or play a freebie.

i think i'm gonna post a review of ww2ol after my 2 week free trial with pcgamer.  I started a trial a couple of days ago and so far my experience has ranged from really fun, to boring to extremely frustrating.

Here's some things so far-

When you start the game the website opens (why can't u just start the game and connect straight to it i have no idea) i thought it was an ad popping up so i closed it.  So i start it again and this time i leave it open,  looking for something that says "play now" i finally found it and press on it- it leads me to another damn webpage!   i wanna play a game straight away- not all this hassle.   click on another "play now" and it loads up- woohoo! got past step1.:D

I would seriously ask CRS to change this- i was already half annoyed at taking so long to get the game to play. Yeah it's a minor quibble and i'm probably stupid for not finding the "play now! button quickly- which also happens to be the last thing to load up on the site (takes a while with my 56k).

some other things-
I couldn't fly often because whenever i spawned my own ack shot me or i flipped over and died.  A 110 was on the spawn point rendering the airfield useless.  I dunno if it was a bug or if when we captured the airfield the pilot decided not to despawn.   The RAF only had two airfields in France and this was happening at both.  Luckily 4 or 5 times i managed to get in the air and actually fly about for a bit- but i aint gonna comment on it because i didn't fly much.

Didn't drive tanks much either.

i mainly played as infantry or as an AT gun.  I heard lots of probs with the rifles but i didn't have any problem shooting people as a frenchy or brit.  For me the infantry is really fun- sneaking about, shooting peeps or putting satchel charges on panzers.   However somtimes it's really boring with no enemy in sight.  if the base isn't directly under attack at the moment in time i'll search for afight elsewhere.  That's frustrating too- too often i'm just sat around waiting for something to happen- and it doesn't.  AT guns were pretty fun too- one time i setep facing a road knowing that panzers were attacking.  Waiting for them to drive by and shooting their sides- muahah i'm evil!:D

Some more things that annoy me-

That white crosshair thing- i can't get rid of it, the sight of it just gets on my nerves.  Why is it there?  One time i was trying to shoot a german and instead of firing i dragged the bloodytext box below across my screen.   Yes he killed me.

grenades- i lob them right next to infantry and it doesn't do bugger all.

No AT rifles or machine guns- i want them, what kind of ww2 is this!

I can't think of anything else at the moment but when i do i'll post them later.:)
