Help a Newbie, Save Cash

Got $10 for helping a newbie.  I assume that this will be deducted from my monthly fee...

Cool deal.

It pays to play nice.  :)

What are the specifics? I wouldn't mind helping someone for $$ now. I've helped so many without the money, HT owes me a deluxe, leather interior, P47-M with gabby paint scheme :D

On second thought, just give the 56th the M model jug, and i'll take it under concideration, hehe.

Its part of the new training stuff in the last version.  You have to click something on the clipboard to enable yourself as a "trainer".  A newbie come on line and sees a list of people willing to help out.  After he signs up with a paying account, if he selects you as the person that helps him out, then you get a $10 credit.

The details may be a little off, but that is how I have heard that it works.  Being a CM, I dont have the little button on my clipboard though, so I really dont know exactly how it works.

Eh?

You want $10 credits in the free H2H rooms for helping out newbies?  I can't see why on earth they would even consider doing something like that.  That would be like paying you to play for free.

Come to think of it...doesn't sound like a bad gig if you can get it.

hey we have to deal with everyone that doesnt stick with the MA so i want to help the newbies get going. you see i figure if i helkp them get started they will continue playing instead of leaving because they cant. after a while they will start to want to go to MA thus more business for htc. so by giving them more business i would get payed 10 bucks for every newbie i help (wich would be lots) and end up in the MA. thus i get money gor getting htc more money.

That's ten bucks *if* the person signs up. As long as he signs up, I should think HTC wouldn't care where the noob comes from.

But... he can't credit a H2Her's account if the H2Her doesn't have one. I doubt they'll be sending out checks.

Yep, pretty good system they've got going.  I've gotten a couple of emails saying I've gotten credit when the newbies signed up and stayed.

Now if I could free up some more time and get on more....

Well... I've never so much as been muted in the arenas. My luck isn't as good in the O'Club. :)

As to the mechanism of training... I haven't a clue. I helped out a few guys that seemed to be having difficulty. Took them into the TA and found some space to work. I've played around with the training screens in the control panel but it's not quite what I'd call intuitive.

Look again, Sling.... the latest patch put that right!  The Trainer button now fills the empty gap that used to be second from the right when looking at the Roster....  :D
