What does 4F stand for?  I know what it means, but I thought I remember that it stood for something.

F stand for fighter, 4  literally means a 4th generation plane for its specification (single seat fighter, etc), f refers to the manufacturer.  The navy assigned each manufacturer a letter.  Grumman's was "f".
