It's a girl!
Brigitta (Bri-gee-tah) Kelly Hall
Born December 15th at 8:22 P.M.
4 pounds 3.5 ounces
16 3/4 inches
She came 6 weeks early, but was 100% healthy and vigorous. Sure surprised the heck out of my wife and I by her early arrival and health. She never had any respiratory problems or needed any oxygen, in fact she screamed like a bat almost nonstop for the first day and a half until she got a decent meal. She was delivered by caesarian-section and my poor wife was so drugged-up that she couldn't hold or feed her baby for 24 hours. She was so sensitive to the morphine that she couldn't remain conscious and upright for more than 30 seconds at a time. Brigitta remained in the Special Care Nursery for 9 days. Mother and baby are well and home.
We had only been in Ohio 4 days before my second daughter let us know that she wanted out. Joan and I spent the early part of December packing a Ryder moving truck and finishing last minute fixes on our house in Colorado Springs. We had an uneventful drive to Ohio and I managed to unload the very-full 24 foot truck in a little more than a day. As planned, we moved in with my wife's parents and plan to stay until I have a job that will qualify us for a loan on our own home. My in-laws saved the day by taking care of Svea (daughter #1) so that I could stay with Joan in the hospital for the 7 days that she was admitted. We spent the next 5 days driving back and forth to the hospital 3 times a day so that Joan could breast-feed. Brigitta came home on the 23rd. And on the 24th we received a decent offer on our house in Colorado.
