In celebration of Octoberfest, considering that I live in German Village, I wish to display the German flag for the week. Can someone tell me what is the proper way to display it vertically (black to the left or right?).

Black = top
Red = middle
gold = down

Thanks for the reply, but I was looking for how to display it vertically. I don't have a flag pole and will have to hang it from the front of the house.

don't know about germany but american flag when hung vert , the top goes to the right, would all countries be the same?

Top goes to the right. Correct. The wonderful thing about Flags are the rules are consistant 99.99% of the time.
