« on: October 05, 2002, 12:06:48 AM »
Had a great time, fightin Spit 14's in a Tempest. Gangbanged in a F4U4 by 3 262's...

smoked a jet..

Had the bank, never use them...

Spent the night flyin F4U4's until the bank was dry..

Lot of fun :D

Missun guys did there best to kill the flight hangers at active field fights in a war that only lasts a night....

Ahhh......why ????

fogitabotit..

BURP !!

Got my fill before the "war" got in the way..

;)

Good time. Great fights.

From one who crashed his last 262 yesterday before the perky day may I be the first to say what a complete pain it was to have a sky full of 262's.

Nothing more to add.  Carry on.

Well Poop - that's a timeless classic! LOL :D:D:D

Now you know me - I talk a lot on these boards. Well for once, I am lost for words. The best analogy I can come up with is the British comedian Jasper Carrot going into a record shop on a Saturday afternoon. The real reason the kids serving in those shops would be there was so they could listen to their favourite music all day, so when Jasper goes in to buy a record, he said the kid looked at him as if to say "Oh no! Not another bloody customer!"

Hehe.... I flew (and of course ended up losing) two 262s last night - never flown them before, and unlikely to again in a hurry!  :D  I have 452 Fighter Perk Points, all of them (apart from 2!) gained by being online when the Bishops have won the war, so it was a blast to just blow 400 of them, albeit temporarily, on a couple of 262 flights....  :)

I thought it was fun for about 10 minutes... then it got boreing.  Can't imagine why anyone would whine about the perk system after last night.

Tumor - that's how WB was on the last day of the RPS. Remember?

I didn't fly allot of WB's... actually, the RPS is probably the biggest reason why (other than the mushybirds feel).

The biggest problem was the fact that the last day of the RPS always fell on a Sunday a popular day for squad night for many many squads not to mention the fact that it's the weekend anyway with many non squad affiliated players online. The solution was so simple, extend the RPS a few days or even decrease it so that it was staggered so the last day of the RPS fell on different days, why iEN were so unresponsive I don't know but many squads stayed offline in the end or had to move their squad nights.

LOL Beet1e that's a first :D

Let me splain, cuz ya'all have the wrong impression.

I think the perk system is the best thing since sliced bread. It works very well for what it was intended for. There are some a/c that could use a few perk points if you ask me. It gives a good balance to the main and hope it is NEVER abandoned.

I rarely use perks, don't fly offline for anything other than a touch and go in a perk plane and to set up my views.

So I don't fly them, and rarely see them in the Main. If they are present, they're "touchy feely" and run at the drop of a hat.

The arena last night was full of them. They flew aggressively. For the most part there wasn't any RUNNERS. Refreshing :)

I would ask how many 1 on 2's you've had flying a Tempest vs. two Spit 14's ??? I never have, it was a blast.

The aggressivness of everyone was refreshing. No one was concerned about there "score". That made for some good fights. Instead of running they "worked" it.

Landed one last night after bagging a few and said to myself "Jeez this F4U4 rocks"...Checked in the hanger and the last three sorties had been in a 1D...

Friday night fun. An occasional injection of Uber is enjoyable..

Note: occasional

Note: I hated jet day in WB

Note: Beet1e is speechless :D

Note: Missun guys...it was only one night, shoulda grabbed a fighter and...fought....

Wish I could have flown in the MA last night but only had time for the TOD. I am for having maybe a twice a year free perk plane day.

Hell... it outta be a monthly event...

Got to spend a lot of time in planes I don't normally fly. Sure... you can argue that there is the DA or the TA, but it's just not the same as the MA. I learned a few things about the Me262 last night.

The only losers were the freaks that stayed in the old main in an attempt to pad their scores while everyone else was having fun :)

naw, the losers were those in the penalty-free arena choosing not to fly the same way in the MA.

i guess it just goes to show how many people truly worry, excessively at that,  about their, score or k/d.

Here, here! I couldn't agree more. It would be nice to see the last friday (or something) of every month be a no-score, no penalty event. I'd be all for it. Care free events like this are a good change of pace. Rather like the opposite of SEA.

Turbot, the scores were frozen. It doesn't matter what happened in the other arena, it doesn't effect anything. It was also a great place to get beginners into the Main Arena mindset, without the problems inherent in the TA. I don't know if keeping it like that would be helpful, but it certainly was a bit easier to demonstrate aspects of the MA.
