In most email programs there's a Cc and Bcc box that you can type an address into. What the heck do these do?

cc copies someone on the mailing. Its basically the same as adding them to the "To:" box.

bcc copies someone in a "blind" manner. Basically, mail recipients can't see who is being bcc'd on the message.

Cc = carbon copy. You're sending it to another person as well as primary address.

BCc= blind carbon copy, other receipients don't see who you sent that particular copy to. If it is just CC then all people you sent it to get to see what address' you used to send them to. Bcc means you can keep all the others in the dark.

It is also seen as "bad form" to click on the "Reply to all" button when you received a Joke from someone and write something in this order.
