Terrain editor troubles

When ever i try to make a terrain i get a message saying "ahedit.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" it always does this after about 30 seconds, could somebody please help me?

First, I thought it was a bug too.

 Well, actually, it is.

 What you have to do is, make a new terrain by clicking "New".

 The system asks for a file as if you are loading something.
 Just type in the name of the new terrain and then, you are
 ready to start. You won't be kicked to the desktop once the
 new terrain is ready to be built.
