How do I bomb

Alright,
I know this sounds stupid, but I have no-clue how to bomb :confused:.  I can't even seem to get the bombers off the ground.  I try to take a fully loaded Lanc off the ground and I always go splat, and usually my formation dies before I go splat too.  I've been practicing this offline so I wouldn't screw up my kills/death stat, but still the point is that I would like some help on how to get the LANC off the ground and what is a good bombing alt and speed.  Dropping the bombs and calibrating I can handle (I got a b-26 off the ground without problems and practiced my bombing technique with that).  Anyways, long story short, any advice on helping someone learn how to bomb would be appreciated. :D   Thanks

Oh, also, does anyone have a good bombing practice map out there that I could download.  I would build my own with the Terrain Editor, but I don't have the time with college classes and stuff.

First off, don't try to start with a fully loaded lancaster. Hardest bomber in the game to fly with a full load.

2nd you only need 25% fuel, even in main that will take you 150 miles or 6 sectors. More than enough to get you to 15k over target & home.

Next, read the help files on the htc site, plus the old posts here in help & training.

Tons of info here, just have to dig a bit.

Download the Germany map; it's got several fields that have airstart launches. You do start at 0 airspeed, so it gets a little sickening for a bit (hit the auto level switch and let the plane take care of itself). Once you have the map installed, look here for information on how to use the Germany terrain to practice doing calibration.

Practice offline until you're got the calibration procedure down, then try it in the MA. The only thing that you need to remember in the MA is the wind layer; at 14K and above, there is a 30-mph wind blowing east, which will alter your plane's ground track. If you calibrate your sight correctly, the effect of the wind is accounted for, but if you change your course more than a couple of degrees, the calibration will no longer be accurate, and you'll have to redo it.
