If there is such hostilities between AH vets and AW vets, then maybe this isnt the place for me, I have no desire to be on the recieveing end of pokes and jabs about my days in AW, where I had alot of fun, and met some very nice people
At least I have 8 more days to decide before I have to fork out the card #
lorri, sorry I missed this post. I was using my mouse to scratch my back and now it's full of hair and doesn't scroll right.
I think there's a bit of good-natured bantering back and forth that sometimes people take a bit too seriously, but as a newbie you'll be pleased at just how helpful the community is. Unless you say something inflamatory about AH vets you won't get teased. Don't worry.
This Game is everything that AW could have been and more. A two week trial doesn't do this game justice. Hey, I spent my 2 week trial sitting on a runway unable to figure out how to start my motor or ask for help, got discouraged and left. This sim rocks, the community is great and we have a staff that plays the game, unlike the beancounters at EA.Com who wrecked Air Warrior. (At the mention of EA.Com a hiss is heard throughout the room.)
I'm having just as much fun here, excepting the fact I get shot down a lot, as I ever did in AW and I learn something new every day. Yesterday I found out you can actually LAND a plane instead of it automatically bursting into flame. I mean, how kewl is that?
The Training Arena is a great place to start, and with reduced lethality it's ideal for pratice of bombing skills. It's also staffed by volunteers- many of them AW vets, BTW. You'll love this game.
