Is that the all-new scratch built 190 I've read about from Germany?

Ah. I knew they were considering dora production. Did'nt know they'd actually gone ahead and done it tho.  Very nice.

Anyone know the latest over at Paine field?  No updates on the stormbirds site for 2 months now....

Cool!  new Doras!

I'd say let ppl use these for shows, movies, etc.  Save Yellow-10 for occasional ordinary (no aerobatics) flight, engine runs (real engine sounds!), displays.  I don't think any of us want to see Yellow-10 and all the hard work put into her scrapped.

Its not a Dora; its the A8 version, which strikes me as being more visually appealing.  I hope they get all 12 built.  It would be nice to see them used in an air combat film some day!

they left off the 151/20 bulges on the wing root. Unfortunate.

they too expensive :)

now if they make them for say $50000 maybe we could afford to scrape the money together! :)

FYI the motor they are using is the same that was used in the La-5FN and La-7.

I don't know what motor they will use for the Fw 190D.  I don't know of any running examples of the Jumo 213.  Maybe they'll just put an Allison in there?

gofaster:  if you read the link, you'll see where they quietly built 2 Doras in addition to those A8's.

funked:  Ow... ok I hope they find something close to the old Jumo... visions of Buchon-looking Doras will appear in my nightmares :) (you can't invert an Allison can you?) Maybe some Jumos in the Czech repub?  Didn't the Avia S-199 (?) have a Jumo?  One day I'll have to hear in person a real Merlin and a real Jumo, just to have the experience :)

I'd love to have one if I had the money.. but nobody in my family wanted to let me learn how to fly when I was in high school, so all it would do is sit around in a hangar, albeit kept very clean.  So I wouldn't make a worthy owner of any warbird (not that worthiness stopped anyone from getting one).
