Stick woes part 2
« on: September 07, 2000, 09:46:00 PM »
Oh man I don't think I've been this angry in a while.  In tonights TOD I flew 190a8's covering the panzers from the ruskies.  I had one the THE BEST senario flights ever. I had 2 or 3 kills, the stick was spiking but not bad. I had a realy bad "spike attack" while climbing but it got better when we started fighting.

Well we see the typhoons coming in so we get on them.  I shot one up with a short burst of cannon, but he did a loop and I just zoom climbed to keep his wingy off me.  Well they saw the tanks and turned for them, but this put me and mighty1 right on their hi 6's.  One of the leaders saw Mighty1 about to kill tail end charlie and broke around.  This put me in a perfect position to split S right onto his 6, like d3.

BAMMM!!!!!!          SPIKE ATTACK!!!!!        instead I end up with full back stick deflection, speed stall and plummit face first to Earth.

Oh man what a sh__y fealing

Udie

[edit] Forgot to add that I have this sickening event on film too.  I'll email it to who ever is willing to post it for me...

I was in a giant furball once.  I saw a spit dive in on someone and get the kill.  The second the explosion occured I saw the kill awarded to HT.  He was in front of me.. and slightly below.  I dove in for the kill.  I had him dead to rights when a spike attack hit my Logitech Wingman Extreme 3d.  I augered into the ground right behind him giving him the maneuver kill.

I got a 3d Precision Pro the next day.

Now, I patiently await for that same scenario to unfold again.  I'm ready this time HT... oh yes... I'm ready.

Udie;

One word will end all your woes ---> USB.

Follow my advice from the other thread, the frustration is un-ending.  I went through the same thing.

Just a suggestion....been using CH Products a long time......never had a problem with stick or pedals or their drivers.....CH seems to work well with any sim I am playing....and most sims configured for ch stiks etc.  try CH f-16 combat stick....I understand NASA uses it for their space shuttle simulator....I love it

If you think the Saitek might be your decision, e-mail me. I have a 36X usb sitting at home collecting dust. Will make you a deal. Hate to see someone of your ability hampered by hardware, especially with the new revision around the corner.

I was with Udie last night and saw all the problems he was having...it really sucked.

At least you stayed in long enough to kill a couple of em AND most importantly you cleared my 6 ..Thnx.

I've got a Sidewinder precision pro still in the box if you want it... free. Just e-mail me and tell me where to send it.

Oh yeah maximus dickimus you as usual have no clue of what you are talking about so do us all a favor and change your diaper cause it like you is full of toejam.

It looks like plenty of other guys can cover your six when a "shitbird" pulls in to take a shot.                     BERSERKR

Heya Udie, been awhile bud. How do you feel about opening your stick? Doesn’t sound like you don’t have much to loose, so open that baby up. And do the WD40 trick. In the past it's worked for me.  At least till CH or Thrustmaster gets all their USB gear out.

Put that little straw on the can of WD40 and spray those little holes in the pots and let it drain out.  Make sure to wrap the pot with a paper towel before you spray or you’ll have WD40 going everywhere.

Hope this solves your problem,
Wrek

PS: Never hurts to verify there isn’t a check mark next to ‘Poll with interrupts’ in win’s joystick setup.
