Headphones?

Who uses headphones instead of speakers?

I have both but started using headphone cause I'm in the living room with wife/baby/tv.

I've tried speakers when wife/baby/tv is gone/gone/off but I don't like them anymore because I get clearer, more distinct sounds with headphones.

Hell I can tell when a plane is in my blind spot sometimes because I hear his engine.

Anyone one else?

Regards,

Yep...headphones to appease the locals and my vox tends to be garbled w/ speakers.

Headphones are great for gaming.  I used to get accused of cheating in Tanarus because I could find "stealthed" tanks by listening for them.  :)

Here is a really top notch pair at a great discount:  http://store.yahoo.com/millionbuy/snymdrv600.html

MSRP on these is like $130!

I have a set from the dollar store that I use when the GF is asleep--came in a 3-pack for only 4 bucks.    Otherwise it's back to my deluxe $5 speakers  :)

I use these
gamevoice

excellent platronics headset-mic with a usb hub that lets you extend your headphones along way and gives you a switch to change between speakers and headphones..
35$

I use gamevoice also... however, the cheesy headset/mic that they sold with it sucks bad.  So I bought me a Labtec headset/mic.

Headsets allow clearer vox and sound for me, aswell as appeasing my sleeping wife in the next room.

However, when I want to annoy my neighbors, I switch to my stereo speakers, turn up the volume, and launch a formation of Lancasters.   (I live in a 4 -story apartment building...   you can hear the reverbs all the way down in the basement when I do that.  :D  )

Headphones here too.  I use the big kind that are soft and fit over the entire ear.  Funny thing is, after some time flying I start to heat up.  I guess ears really release a lot of heat from your body and these things just trap it in.  The really bad thing about headphones is that prior to a TOD Scenario Mission, I usually miss some important order from our CO due to having to take off the headphones to get a drink or deal with the kids.

This headset mic is comfortable to wear for extended periods, and is high quality from Radio Shack.

I use a $20 labtec headset.  Decent sound, and a headset makesit much easier to hear those people who have soft vox.

Get the cordless ones.  :)

I hear you about the heat build up.  After one of the Big Week frames I actually had a puddle of sweat in my earcups.
