Will Windows XP support CH pro devices and Speedkeys?

I just heard it won't and want to know before I by an OS.

better yet, don't take my word for it, go to the CH products web page.  XP and 2000 lock out such things for "Security reasons".  So, no.

The answer is yes and no.  Yes, Win2K/XP will support legacy analog CH gear but you will not be able to program them since Speedkeys isn't compatible with Win2K/XP.  You can however use PTSETUP provided you can boot up to DOS using Win2K/XP, Flossy knows how as her hubby has done it a few times.  Best to ask her how to do it.

You can however program a few of the buttons on the Pro Throttle since they throw out default keys, numbered 1 though 24.  You can program these buttons within AH keymapper but you might have troubles programming the default buttons that are double digits.  You will not be able to program the large grey thumb button though since the default key press gives out the firmware version of the chip in the Pro Throttle.

Only the USB CH products are fully compatible with Win2K/XP since they use Control Manager for programming.

CH Anolog Game devices that use Speedkeys for programing will not be able to be programed in win 2000 or win xp.  CH USB game controlers work fine in 2000 and XP

I've got the old gameport analog stuff, so I guess XP and 2K are out of the question for me.

Post a message on this board for Flossy and ask her how her husband programmed his legacy analog CH gear using PTSETUP on a Win2K/XP machine.

Eskimo, the old gameport CH devices work in Win2k/XP with no problem at all.  But you just can't programm them there.  If you have access to an old Win98 install on another partition or drive, you can program them there.

Or if you want to buy XP, just install it as a dual boot system and you will be fine.
