The depth perseption problem is apparent when close, OK i got the distance measurement wrong, but if you are up close to another plane in AH, it does'nt feel like you are up close. When up close in WB it feels like you are close. That was really my point.
I went through the same thing a year ago when i came over from WB's. You're just used to the WB's way of doing it, I was too. It's part of the learning curve. You just gotta tell yourself that this is a different simm, and its
gonna have a different feel to it than the one you came from.
Too many people come over from WB's with the wrong attitude. They think since WB's is naturally the most *superior* simm on the web, that they, of course would be a more superior pilot than one from one of those other <snicker> simms. They soon find that these other boys can easily whip their bellybutton at will. Thats when a lot of WB refugees pack their bags, run back home to AGW, saying how Aces High sux, etc. They fail to mention that maybe getting their bellybutton handed to them was a factor in their leaving.
When and if you get used to the FM and icons, you will see that there are maneuvers and BFM that you can do in this game that are impossible in WB's. Rolling Scissors on the deck. Stallfighting a 109 against a pony.
Also keep in mind that this game is evolving at a fast rate. The version that we are about to get includes the Lancaster and JU88 Bombers, revised gun film features, combat trim, icons that are NOT visible if the plane is not (cant take deflection shot using the icon of the other plane) a primitive padlock view feature (HT was wise enough to keep it primitive), a different terrain, (a revamped beta terrain) and several more things I cant think of.
I hope you stick around through the learning curve. I'm an instructor if you wanna get together sometime. Just email me if ya do.
