Frenchy, did you try looking in the Pacifc NW. Lotta little puddle jumping airlines in the Puget Sound region. Alot of seaplane hopping from island to island.

everyone I know trying to make a career as a pilot aside froma lucky few are either:

a. jobless
b. furloughed
c. on reserve
d. part time
e. still looking for their first flying job

almost all employers are on a hiring freeze since they have more pilots than they need.

A flying job!

DUDE, GO TO ALASKA!
Pilots and flying jobs are about as common in
Alaska as migrant pickers are in farm country. If you don't mind hauling fishermen and hunters around in a Beaver or other light plane, Alaska is the place to go.
At one point I had 3 roommates that were all pilots in Alaska. 2 of them were from Germany, they both got jobs rather quickly and flew all summer.
An old fiennd of mine moved to Alaska in the late 80s to pursue a air career, he now flies big jets all over the world.
Another good friend just started his career a few years ago and was flying DC-3s and DC-8s in no time. (Career is now on hold for shmucking-up a landing on a DC-8 as co-pilot)

If you can hold out till spring, air services hire pilots like Mcdonalds hires fry cooks.
