surgery tomorrow
« on: October 15, 2002, 05:57:20 PM »
Going under the knife tomorrow for knee reconstruction (ACL).  Yay me!

Nothing to scope out, the MRI showed no loose cartilage floating around.  My doctor said I'm a "good" case given the situation.  I opted to have an autograft instead of an allograft.  Autograft is a longer recovery but stronger than an allograft.  In the long run I think it'd be a better choice.

Never had surgery on anything before, but I'm not nervous.  I remember seeing a story on Dateline about patients "waking up" mid-surgery still paralyzed but able to feel the knife cutting.

wish me luck!

there is nutt'n to it im 16 and ive been through at least 12 :) i had club feet when i was born (my feet bent up against my legs at the joint)

i dont know what you are gonna go through but the only painfull things i went through was  the IV (i hate needles) and when i had a 3 inch spike in my heel to keep a bone in place ...they had to pull it out without nutt'n to kill the pain ...there was 1 more thing but it was just a button tied to a string that was tied to a bone in my leg :) but other than that it was fine

in the end the lil bit of pain was worth it when the pulled the spike one of the nurses fainted

have fun :p
