hey....exile and i were shootin the watermelon at work today, and got to talkin' about monitors. He wants a new one eventually and i was joking about getting a nice flat panel.

Well, i've been told that you can get one of those Mac Cinema Display 23" or 22" (whatever the largest one is) and a little adapter and hook it up to your DV out on your video card.

so lets say its all good and your running at something like 1920 x 1200...and you run AH.

What happens to AH? will it run? Does it stretch out to fit the screen? does it reset the resolution?

does anyone else have a wide screen display other than Mac?

My NEC FP955 monitor will do 1920x1200, which is the native resolution of the Cinema HD Display. Aces High does work at that widescreen resolution but you have to edit the video.cfg.

Does it look stretched

depends... on a CRT you can adjust the display to take the whole screen or leave bands at the bottom. It wouldn't look stretched on an LCD like the Apple one since it is designed as a wide screen display.

You can edit the video7.cfg file and change the resolution to a custom one, if your video/monitor support it.

Thats odd, I changed the res in the file to 1900x1080, when I start ah it gives me the white config box and I have to pick a size from the selection. Must not be something limiting in the video card (could play at that res in other games/apps).

It does work in 1600x900 and 1600x1024.

pretty neat. Wish I would've thought about that a few years earlier.
