So hazed you would prefer that you exploded as he went thru you instead of when you didn't see him coming and shot him?

The second you can control, the first you cannot.

"From my point of veiw i had no chance of knowing this guy was there until it was too late. "

Isn't this the guy you said you were chasing for like 2 minutes?   During that time, couldn't you be bothered to look around you even ONCE?    I know you're a good flier so you really have no excuse for not having seen the other friendly, except perhaps laziness (we all get lazy wuth SA sometimes, not an insult).

What do you expect, all the friendlies in the area to always ignore whatever enemy you decide to attack?   The AH MA is very much a free-for-all; sometimes that works to your benefit, sometimes it doesn't.  It's human nature to complain about the times we lose out, so I can understand your post here (I get quite vocal on squad channel at times), but that doesn't really mean there's a problem with AH.

We all die to killshooter now and then, or at least suffer some damage from it.  Accidents happen.  I maintain that if you die to KS more than once every few months, then you are doing something drastically wrong.

That said, I don't particularly like killshooter.  It makes things like bomber escorting or clearing a wingman's 6 needlessly dangerous.

"Totally disregarding (as seen above in testimony) the friendlies already there and any effect thier sudden pop up right in front of a person firing already may have. "

Oed--

If a friendly flies through you, then on HIS screen he's probably 100 yards or so away from where you see him.   Where you see planes on your screen is NOT the exact location as they see themselves on THEIR screens.   It's not that they "disregard" you, it's that on their screen they are NOT flying directly in front of you.  If they DID fly directly in front of you, then they wouldn't appear right in front of you on your screen.

This is why 9/10 of the time, only one person dies in an AH collision....because only one person's computer actually saw the collision.  For the guy who doesn't die to a ram, it wasn't a collision at all but a near-miss.

If AH had friendly collisions, then every time you see a friendly "fly through you" you would die.....and he wouldn't because on his screen he did not touch you.   Does that really seem like fun?

jab is right and we tried a few events with friendly colosions on. It sucked it we any where close to a friendly. Both of you dont die only the guy that sees the colision.

All it lead to is arguing and name calling.

Lots of good arguments here.  The thing to remember is not everyone who plays AH cares about the realism, what team they are on etc...  I've had friendly newbies come up on me and blast away because they don't realize the country situation.

Piss off the right squad member of a significant squad and you become a marked target, despite being on the same team.  You need killshooter.

Collisions, same thing, a little harder to ram but there are guys out there that would just like to make your day.  Also the limitations of a computer simulating a combat flight sim, I think a little compensation is needed.

The way things are set up now works.  You need some rules to keep the game playable and enjoyable for all skill levels and enthusiast.

Great idea.  Both planes should die though.

Do you really want to die when somebody flies past you?

I agree that it would only be practical in a Mission Arena.

The thing is however, that I've been with AH since beta and seen many features disapear because of "playability".

The fact is that if you put stuff like FF en Fcollisions in a new arena from the start, it won't cause as many problems.

People in the MA are used too these things and will probably never be able to play a more realistic setting.

For example, I realy miss the day/night changes and hope they come back soon. But they will probably not be accepted in the Main Arena.

Better to start stuff like that in a new Mission Arena.

"I realy miss the day/night changes and hope they come back soon. "

Could you elaborate on this?   I'm not sure what you mean--we still have night-time in the MA on regular intervals.

Friendly collisions would be a nightmare.  AH doesn't have periphial vision, real radio coms/discipline, flight controllers, traffic rules and formation discipline.  Friendly collisions might surpass enemy fire as the major source of kills.

I kind of wish HTC would allow players to enable friendly collisions on their FE so they could try it out and see how much they like it.
