Strike Fighters....isn't that the one with the Wal-Mart pre-release scandal?  That can't be good for business.

gone gold means the game media (CD-ROMs) are being manufactured and boxed now in preparations for shipping to retailers.  Usually means will be on the shelf in two weeks.  (really, that's not just the standard "two weeks" retort you hear all the time...)

Amazon is offering $5 off and free shipping on preorders of MSCFS3.  Anyone know anything about this sim?  Will it be open architecture for third-party add-ons?  That's what makes the MSFS line so great, in my opinion.  Otherwise, I'll just do AH and forget about offline stuff.

Yep,that's the one.And it's publisher is .....Strategy First, the same people who prematurely released WWIIOL.

The game looks good, but going by the publishers past history,I'll probably wait for the reviews.

CFS3 will be open architecture like previous BUT... i believe it will be more difficult to convert fs aircraft in and!!!
online, all aircraft files are compared to the host , so any clients joining with files different from the host will not be permitted.

So i've heard

Thanks, Skurj.  If I'm going to do online flying, I'll do AH where I can get credit for my time. :D

The best part of CFS2 was bringing in the a/c that people had made, and then making my own missions with them.  If CFS3 will have that same capability, I think it'll be worth placing on my Christmas list.  I made a number of Cold War-era Red Flag exercises using Century series fighters and MiGs in guns-only mode.  I even had a mission with a Battlestar Galactica Viper fighter going up against a couple of F4 Phantoms in guns-only mode.  Alot of HOs there, because neither plane could turn worth a darn.  Was fun to try stall recovery in a that Viper, though!

What will be intersting is the Dynamic Campaign...If it works like they say,it could very well be a classic.

But knowing MS,there most likely an unforgivable bug that they refuse to aknowledge or patch.
