Hint of the Week
« on: October 19, 2002, 05:32:43 PM »
When you're in your panzer and an enemy Flak is snaking his way toward you (they do this to make themselves harder to hit once they know you're there), fire HE (high explosive) at his tracks, rather then AP. You don't have to hit the flack, as getting close will detrack him and keep him from getting close enough to kill you.

HE will also kill M3's, M16's, M8's, and the engines of Panzers and Flaks without actually hitting the vehicle. Just get close.

Once they are detracked, or motionless, shoot them in the side of the track area with AP and they CAN explode with a single hit. Not always, but this does work and highly demoralizes the enemy.

One more foot and that axle-piercing, armor contortioning, HE limestone rock would have done the same effect.;)

When defending your own field you don't have to drive back to land it. Aside from your name in the buffer there is no benefit from landing safely. A ditch counts. Sometimes it is to your advantage to keep that information (your having left the vehicle)  from the enemy, anyway.

The three most important categories for GV's is gunnery, kills per time, and damage per death. Minimize your time in sortie by ditching when you need to.

All 10 categories are equally weighted.

Ditching isn't counted as a death.

I said that, Eskimo, because if you score well in these cat's, you will do well overall; and you know that! :D

Thanks for clarifying that, Innomin8. I should have stated that more clearly.
