HiTech...

What are you doing for insurance? Low time + Experiemental...just wondering what you wound up going with, etc.

The only firms I could find that would insure the BD-5 I had was, well....Fargo...the same folks that insure the Space Shuttle, etc etc.  Not cheap!

Avemco is awful, many folks cant fly since the insurance went up big time after 9/11.

Van's is the most common kit plane.
They have a program set up with Nation Air.
Also on the financing side, rv was one of only a few home builts lots of banks would finance.  Insurance was 2.7% of insured price nose wheel would have been a little less. They did require a check ride with a CFI with 200 hours RV time.

Seems reasonable enough (though I'm wondering what the end number turned out being :)  )

Van's makes some great kits.  Friend's RV-9A is nearly done!
