I took a typing class in jr. high school, and another 4 hour keyboard class when it was obvious that my career in computing would benefit from it. I'm no master at the keyboard, but I'm a passible touch-typist.
But it is beyond my comprehension how so many of you manage to go on and on and on in the message buffer (channel 1, team channel, room channel, mission channel) while you are playing.
At first I thought that about 1/3 of the people in the MA simply sat in the tower all day and used AH as a chat room. No way could they type that much and fly. Then I conceded that all of that chatter was people making good use of their auto-climb time (and here I was using it to pee or check in with my wife).
But being more observant I see that, indeed, teammates who are right there in the same furball as me are chatting away on channel 1 to the guy they just shot down and on the team channel about this and that. I'm in awe. I find it almost impossible to issue a quick "rgr" or "cc" reply when I'm flying, let alone a "I'm draggin two LAme 7's toward A29 - plz help" (I mean to even take the time to include the insult - amazing).
All I can figure is that many of you get a *lot* of practice with one hand on the keyboard and the other on your, uh, stick.
