User accounts in XP and Aces High

Maybe someone has had this problem and can help me figure it out.

In XP you can have multiple accounts on your machine. On my system I have been running under "System Admin" and have had no problems with Aces High and its graphics.

I recently created a "User Account" just for my gaming activities. The problem is when I try to run AH under this user account, the graphics are notchy. If I bank the plane, it does it in chunks.

Has anyone ever experienced this problem before and if so, how can I fix it?

While in flight the other night, I seen a conversation between Skuzzy and some other pilots. Topic was video jidders....

So I asked Skuzzy about this Windows XP user account/ Video jidders problem and he said that I had to give Admin rights to the User account to fix the problem. BTW, thanks for the quick responce Skuzzy.

Now, is it just me or is it kind of defeating the purpose of having a 'user account' on your operating system if you are going to give it full Admin status.

Interent security experts, Steve Gibson at http://www.grc.com, recommend that if you are running Windows XP that you should create a USER account for your everyday activities on the Internet and ONLY use your Admin account for making major changes in your operating system.

I wonder what part of the Video settings AH is calling upon that it will only work in a full Admin enviroment.

well if you really wanted to have some fun try getting AH to run as a service then you can run it under a user account.  You could also log in as a user, right click AH and choose 'Run AS' then put the admin credentials in.  You'd only generate a token for that application and no others.

Yup.

That worked.  :D

I did not know you could run a single application under "Admin" while is a user account enviroment.

The added bonus of running in a "user mode" is there is very little running in the background and therefore imporves game play.

Thanks Dingbat......owe ya one.

S!
