I use a graphics card that is built in my motherboard. Before i put a 128 ram upgrade in my pc i have a 64 megs ram with 16mb vram. When i put a 128 ram in my pc, my memory is now totaled to 192 megs ram and i also noticed my video ram increased to 32 megs vram.

After i put a memory upgrade to my pc, why am i not getting good frame rates when i put the game at 1024 by 768 pixels at 16 bit color?

( my video card is intel 82810 graphics controller. )

The problem is literally, your video "card". Onboard video is just not up to the task. Memory upgrades alone are not going to give you the frame rate increase you seem to be looking for. You need a separate, more powerful video card. Recommend any of the GeForce 3 and higher models, or the new Radeon card (9700 Pro).

What speed CPU do you have? That will also affect your frame rates (especially in Ace High). I wouldn't recommend anyhting less than a 1GHZ processor.

cpu power really doesnt mean toejam in AH I run it fine on a p3 600 mhz, i have a gf3ti200 and never drop below 60 fps. The problem with you video that you have that Intel crap is that is integrated, and more than likely shares memory. Meaning that it doesnt have its own onboard memory, and must use your system memory. Any g-force card or for that matter pretty much any graphics card will have its own memory.

It would as long as you have a free AGP slot to put it in.

No such thing as a PCI version of a gforce2 or 3 or 4 that I know of. Dumb your motherboard, get a new one. Hell for that matter buy a new xp1600+ processor for $52 and a new mobo for $54

Geforce 4 MX PCI is the most powerful card you can get. It will boost your fps a great deal (just avoid the 420 version.)

IMHO those radeon 7500 cards are crap. go for the PNY gf4mx, unless you want video out , which is pointless unless you are wanting to plug your computer into your tv(crappy resolution on TV, unless you have a HiDef one).

You really should think about replacing your mobo and cpu with vid-card; if you buy PCI vid-card you can't use it in your next system (well you can but it's already slow).
There are pretty cheap cpu/mobo combos for sale, check them out and send a letter to Santa.

Beg to differ pfunk, but CPU power does matter in AH. It's not as important as the overall video card itself, but it does make a difference.

Not to get into a pissing match, but frankly I have a hard time believing your frame rates never go below 60 with your setup.

It might not go below 60 when flying around, but I'm willing to bet in furballs and other high-traffic areas it's definitely below 60.

Of course, you also did not specify the resolution, color bits or anti-aliasing settings you use either.

Ike2, in addition to a new mobo, CPU and vid card, get a new case with it. Decent cases can be had relatively inexpensively ($45 for a decent mid sized tower with 300W power supply).
