Hey! That ryhms!  Seriously, how hard would it be to make a second version of the destroyer escort with man-able main guns as the only difference from the stock AH DE?  Perhaps with the ability to fire torpedoes, too?  That way, terrain and scenario designers could use them to create more tactical situations for naval combat.  I'd love to set up a terrain with a bunch of independently commandable cruisers and destroyers, to recreate the many naval engagements that involved primarily surface action such as Savo Island, the Battle of the Java Sea, etc.  You could also set up destroyer flotillas in terrains that could actually engage in combat and provide naval gunfire support of amphibious assaults.  Would there be much work involved, since the ship models are already done?  Just wondering.  Of course, it would also be fantastic if you included the ability to adjust a TG's speed, with All Stop/Ahead Slow/Ahead Full/Ahead Flank speed settings for the TG commander to use.  Thanks.

Hmm, would maybe fill a niche for a vehicle perk.  Would be fun to go tearing off from your port after an enemy Task Force or terrorize an enemy base with a few friends on board your ack-star destroyer.   :D

Ya I too have though this would be fun, and or to have CA's with float planes that could be sortied as well, or the Squad Ship concept.
