If you see me online Anton I'll do what I can to help you out. It really is quite easy to do after you get a hang of things.

Yeah, the constantly computing bombsight works perfectly for dive-bombing too.  You can enable it in the setup of the arena when offline or when hosting a H2H session.

Kwessas article was very good, but one of the toughest things to do is to calibrate.  Practice calibrating offline by turing on the jabo sight and then going through the process of calibrating over and over.  If the calibrated point matches the jabo point then you know you calibrated properly.

thnx for the replies, I plan to spend my nexr=t stick time cheking all these things out. Ill be in touch.

As for the divebomb sights They work all to well, in fact i recommend staying away from them if you plan to fly MA. The reason I say this is because they aren't available in MA & its too easy to become dependant on them. At least it was for me.

I have been playing for years (aw and ah) and i am a dive bomb site cripple.  I have been trying for a year now to learn how to dive bomb in ah, so I figure now is the time to try the practice site....

For level bombing, I found that running the site way up towards the horizon, then setting the calibration worked wonders....

The good thing about the dive bomb sight is you can use it to practice your level bombing calibration.  Since it is continuously computed, if you are in the bomb sight, you can look through and see exactly where you bombs would land.  If you calibrate your bombsight, then flip out of calibration mode, the two should match up, if you did a proper calibration.  If not, the difference is the error in your calibration.

Using the dive-bomb point like this is very useful since you can calibrate over and over and over just to get some practice and not actually have to release a single bomb.

You are right, using the jabo sight too much can make you rely on it for dive-bombing, but at least it gives you some ideas of where to aim.  It's like training wheels though, once you get the hang of dive-bombing you should drop using the sight.

Open up settings, select arena setting, and then look for the parameter called "FlightModeFlags".  Click the change button and it will list all the jabo and lead-computing aim point sights for guns.

You can only do this in an arena where you can control the settings, so only offline or in a H2H arena.

no problem, glad I could help.

When the new bombing model was introduced I went offline and ran likely 50+ calibrations using different methods until I was comfortable with them.  I simply used the jabo sight to test out how my calibrations worked out.

a note:  when doing this, make sure you are looking through the bombsight at a piece of land that is the same altitude as the target you selected.  If you don't then the calibration will never be on the target until you pass over some land that is the correct altitude.
