I'm looking for some good covers of older rock...

Any recommendations?

For example, I've got MP3 of:

Kashmir, Kevin Gilbert (it's shrecking awesome)
Mrs. Robinson, Lemonheads
Gimme Shelter, Sisters of Mercy
Strutter, The Donnas

Also worth mentioning...

Tainted Love, Maryilyn Manson
Dangerous Type, Letters to Cleo

Oh... wondering if anyone has ever covered Lyrnrd Skynrd's "On The Hunt"... not that the original isn't damn good... :)

Dred Zeppelin.  Led Zeppelin cover band with an Elvis impersonator on lead vocals.  Sounds weird, but they are great.

If anyone has any MP3s of their stuff I would really appreciate getting a copy.

I'm not sure why, but back around 1997, every punk rock band had to throw out a cover of a cheezy 80's tune. There are entire compilations available, although I can't think of any examples. Well, except for my short lived Ridgecrest Punk band (Nothing to Prove) covering "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the waves.... i REALLY wish we would have recorded that. It was funny as hell.

Radiohead - Wish you were here (Pink Floyd's) Thom Yorke's voice may weird you out at first, but once you get used to it, realize the song is performed beautifully with emotion.

Stone Temple Pilots - Break on Through (The Doors) a solid performance!

Dave Matthews Band - All Along the Watchtower (Bob Dylan) the feeling is different but its pretty nice. Its all live though, no studio recording of it.

These are old covers, but amazing covers nontheless:

Hendrix - All Along the watchtower (Bob Dylan)

Guns 'N Roses - Knocking on Heavens door (Dylan)

The Church,  "Box of Birds"  CD has great covers of a wide range of 70-90s music.
