Your Aces High call sign? It's significance?DamPhyno.
It's the name of the plane of Lt. Norbert Fisher of the 363rd FS/357th FG. He was wounded in action when his engine failed on takeoff from Leiston AB, England. He hit some railroad tracks and wound up in a Beet Field.
It's one of the coolest plane names from WWII that fits in the Aces High format.
The 325th also calls me Phydo, as in the mascot.
I've also been known elicit calls on the voice channel of "*Damm*, Phyno!" after a particularly good, or bad, shot. =)
Your Aces High squad? Checkertails. I'm the System Administrator/webmaster.
http://www.jonathonbarton.com/325thIt's all database driven, with logins and secure areas, a group and personal record of Squad Nights, After Action Reports. The website tallies Current and Best Kill Streaks based on AARs, and a whole bunch of other things...
That said, if another squadron out there wanted something similar, that website system is also inherently modular, and I can hook you up with something similar in your Squadron Colors (that you can administer over the web) in an hour or three. I love being a web developer for a living...
=)

What do you do for a living?Staff IT System Administrator for the City and County of Denver at Denver International Airport.
My specialty is the Flight Information Display System.
(Yep,all those rolling monitors and blank LED signs you see throughout the airport are my responsibility. But look on the bright side - those monitors are SONY...and they've been on 24/7 for *10 years*. =)
If any of you weirdos fly though Denver (and think to remember this tidbit!), give me a buzz from any courtesy phone. Dial 4554 - I'd be glad to meetcha for lunch!

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Personality Profile (
http://www.mbti.com)
My current obsession is building a Dating and Relationships site that's based on Myers Briggs theory (among other thoughts I have on what makes a good match)
What other flight sims have you been involved in?MSFS since the days of the 8086 on a 5" Green Screened Compaq "Luggable"...(um...herniate-able?)
I flew Fighter Ace back about 1999-2000. Was the CO of one of the incarnations of the 357th FG...We spent a lot of time escorting the 376th BG in '17's with our '51s
(
http://www.jonathonbarton.com/357th : unfortunately, the 325th decided they liked the 357th background, and I haven't had time to make a new one for the 357th site yet... *grin*)
More MSFS... I belonged to Westwind VA back in the FS98 days, and I controlled using ProController for the first WWA flyin on SATCO...man, that was a long time ago.
Your call sign and squad in that sim?_357FGCO
Do you have any other connection to aviation or WWII?Not really... Avid historian. I like the idea of Historically based online squadrons. The 357th FG and now the 325th FG pick REAL pilots out of the represented squadrons... I like to think it lends a sense of honor and respect for the ones fought and bled and died for us...leaving us a legacy that is an awful lot more fun for us than it was for them.
Other interesting things about yourself.I'm a Myers-Briggs INTP. That's a personality type that makes up less than 1% of the population. We're the Introverted Overly Logical Geek Architects of the world...Our mascots are The Cheshire Cat and Mr. Spock
If you're interested in a quick test to find your type, go here
http://haleonline.com/psychtest/It's only 4 questions long, and just as accurate as any other test I've found.
You can google the result to find more information (especially you "Single and Looking Guys" - some basic knowledge can help you figure out who's a better match for you faster!)
...or email me (address above) and I'll point you at some resources...
(Nah, it's not something I'm passionate about - not at all!)
Also, there seem to be an awful lot of re-enactors attracted here...
I myself fell in with the Medieval and Renaissance Reenactor crowd in High School...and was the founder and Duke of the local chapter of the organization I belong to:
http://www.adrianempire.orgThe final (I promise) weird fact about my weird person is a lifelong fascination with Tombstone Arizona, 1881. I could care less about the rest of the Wild West...Nothing in Civil War attracts me strongly, no buckskinners for me...etc...just that one place, for that one year.
I started using the name "Jonathon" instead of "John" in about 1994 or so...not for any real reason than I thought it "fit" my personality better.
Then in 2001, I found this...
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?age=gsr&GScid=640404 Put in "Jonathon Barton" and see what comes up...
*VERY WEIRD* *VERY CREEPY*
