Is there a way to refuse someone's attemp to .wingman you?

If not, I think there should be.

For instance, I had a guy .wingman me the other day and mistyped it, so I caught him as it went out on channel 1. He then said he was doing it for a friend so I could be hunted.

Maybe there could be a pop-up that tells you someone has requested to be your wingman, and you can accept or decline.

On another point: Since this guy admitted to me that he was highlighting me for his friend on another country, is that allowed in the game? And if that is allowed, can I in turn .wingman this guy and broadcast his posistion on channel 1?

Just curious.

I dont see why not?  If he is using it to broadcast your position to someone else....do the same thing back to him.

First of all, I think its a pretty much non issue 99% of the time.

The situation you are describing is rude at best.  Finding you is not a big deal, Ive had people follow me around for a few days before when they wanted to see how I bomb, and I find nothing wrong with it.  Finding you to pass the information to another party to kill you is wrong on so many levels.

There is no effective way to prevent such things, and that type of side spy cheating goes on all the time (which is why many missions fail).  Best solution I can think of is an option for you to be NOTIFIED when someone wingmans you.....and it does need to be a choice...otherwise it could be annoying.

Wingman command is great for protecting goons and buffs, finding buddies ect, but should never be used as you describe.  My solution, as for an appology, and/or post the offenders CPID if you feel so inclined.....its stupid crap like that which have me running film 100% of the time....ya just never know when the next BozoŽ is comming around.

My "countryman" that .wingman'd me is Aub, and the "Friend" was AKAK, who was hunting me.

They both even addmitted it quite openly.

I thought it was sad.

LMAO!!!  You're that little twit Crumb?

And it wasn't Apar, it was Aub and I wouldn't have hunted you if you hadn't started your dweebish little whining over open channel.  I gave up the hunt when it became obvious that you were hiding and flying from bases out of range of any Knights and when you did venture south long enough to run into a Knight, you were with the Rookie hordes, hiding behind their skirts.  Now that I thought was sad.

I dont' like the idea of pop up windows at all, but a message would be fine.   The pop up window idea is a pain in the butt, especially when you use .wingman simply to find a pilot who just advertized he's a goon requesting escort.

There should be menu on the clipboard to edit a list of pilots with checkboxes for each containing things like : squelch VOX, squelch text, squelch check 6, ignore .join, disallow that player to .wingman you, show in Squad colour, show in X colour, etc.  This list should be stored and kept for each log in.
Several people have requested a system that allows you to permanently squelch sombody, and this system would allow that, adnd more.

Who was the guy who was spying on you? That's just wrong. He should be sent to fly with the bish for that for his punishment.

My appologies Apar, it was Aub.

AKAK, actually what started it was on channel 2.

You had told Steve you where at a certain base, then 3 seconds later you told Aub that you where at a completely different base.

All I did was tell Aub that you where lying about location to one of us, as a courtesy to him. Then Aub tells me to "STFU, AKAK doesnt lie!"

So I really messed up, now Im afraid to fly.
