Check out the YatMing planes on the Aikens site. I dont know how detailed they are but judging from the pictures, they look decent. And they are quite a bit less expensive than the Armour stuff.

Gofaster....how does the Corgi stuff look detail-wise? Would you put it in the same class as Armour? The Corgi 1:72 scale stuff looks pretty sharp in the pictures.

I have a Corgi 1:48 109E done in Werner Moelders BoB scheme..

It's very nice, pilot looks pretty good.. and it even has the aileron balance weights on it (the weights break easily if the model is knocked down by a cat on "break everything" patrol)...

It comes with a set of landing gear, one that for extended (the push into some holes on the bottom of the wings, but it isn't noticeable that they are detachable) and also a set that's retracted for hanging the model. Engine cowling also comes off to show the engine (just a black rectangle with some details etched into it).

Plastic, glue, and paint can make a model much better than those (not that those aren't nice, I just prefer to make them myself).

Oh well, gonna go work on the F-4 Phantom when I get home. Excellent way to unwind for a few hours after a long day of beating kids for being late to class or walking on the grass.

Yeah but I usually end up with at least 2 or 3 fingers glued together when I try to build them myself. Its much easier to let someone diecast them for me. I was going to bring my F6F-5 with me to the con but with the recent influx of AW pile-its, I didnt feel that it would have been safe to leave it on display on top of my monitor.
