naw, bite me by itself is trivial - it was the context in which it was used to mouth off at a moderator or HTC staffer, whichever, after brady got his mute/warning.

it would be the equivalent to telling the cop who pulled you over for speeding that he was a fat donut-eating loser when he asked to see your driver's liscense.

"it would be the equivalent to telling the cop who pulled you over for speeding that he was a fat donut-eating loser when he asked to see your driver's liscense. "

That the way is completely legal and there's nothing the cop can do about it so long as you actually DO show him your license.

well of course, but.....

he could charge you with assault.

he could trump up all kinds of crap.

he could simply beat your bellybutton and say you resisted arrest.

yanno?

best to just say, thank you sir, have a good day.

or maybe a better example would be comparable to telling judge judy she needs to get laid.

Of course, it's also perfectly legal for the cop to ticket you for everything and anything that you may be in violation of.

It isn't just about verbage - how the other person interprets what you typed also comes into play.  Bottom line, if you get a warning for something you typed, do one of the following:

1. Shut up
2. Apologize

While I think HTs responce to the situation would have been overkill given that I think that Brady's responce was meant to be sarcastically cute, it would still have been Brady's choice to have put something out there that could be mis-interpreted.

In the end, if you're concerned enought about it to ask, you probably won't encounter a problem.

SOB

PS...Cavey, you should never enter any thread of this nature.  If you got muted today for typing "I love you" to everyone in the arena, it would be justified for the scores of poop you've typed on the open channel and haven't been muted for in the past!  :)

Not so!...

If you said that you 'think' he a fat donut-eating loser then he couldn't do a damn thing about it. Otherwise they 'can' cite you for, and I could be wrong on this but there IS a law, 'public slander of a sworn officer'. By saying you 'think' he's a... you are just giving your opinion and here in 'merica, you may voice your opinion w/o any worries...unless the cop goes postal on yer bellybutton :P

Just dont curse on channel 1.  It doesnt matter if its spelled right or wrong.  As long as you dont do it, you should be fine.

Yep, that's what I do...kinda like not having watch for cops in the rear view mirror if you don't speed.

You just gotta speed fast enough.  Then your only concern will be forward-quarter intercepts.

then you could weasel out of it by saying you got new tires and had them balanced and that the speedometer must be off.

Well:

I was at 6k on a F4U's six at D800 and about to open fire and widewing pluged me with 5inch and killed me outright, I was on my way home with 3 kills and a VH and some fuel bunkers in the bag, a good attack sortie, he had already killed a couple squad mates and I thought I was at a safe distance.

The "fuk" was not a slam but more a means to express my suprise, truth be told he did quiet well in that gun it was a good shot.

Of course the monitor had no clue of any of this, my ushal response would of been "!" and thats it. I agree that say "fuk" was not aproparate, If I hadent been so shocked to have receaved a warning for this when I see it all the time on chanel one I would never of said bite me, It was inteaned as a flipent remarc, "sarcastically cute" as SOB said, obviously it was to much to ask the moderator to even begin to appricate that, nor in retrospect shold it of been.

When I get pulled over I say TY officer, but then agin it is quiet clear that I was speading I know I am being bad and I am ready to pay the consaquences, In this case I was preparied to be warned, and not prepared to be muted, but a leasion was learned, It is true telling the cop to f off aint to smart, after all you know not what he amy do what kind of a person he/she is or what their temperment may be, better to play it safe and live to spead another day.

My muting chery has been popped, I feal howeaver  it was more like a date rape than a loving imbrace:)

So let me get this straight...

"Bite me" will get you muted
"Byte me" is ok unless you say it to hitech

Is there a list of mute trigger words?  I'm not talking about all the possible mis-spellings as that would help people invent new misspellings, just the core words?  For example, would typing in "RV-6 owners are jealous of Harmon Rocket owners" get you muted, banned, or what?
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

Not exactly eagl.....according to what I have read here...."FUK" will get you warned and when you respond to the warning with "byte me" then you will get muted.
