Graphics are secondary (or even tertiary) to me. And those graphics look like ass. So what if the resolution on the textures is a little tighter when the actual texture looks like buttcheese. In fact, if the texture looks like an asscrack, then it's better to have lower resolution.
There are a few things that really keep me about AH. One is the little gameplay facets that go unnoticed most of the time but yet support smooth gameplay. (Like the storing of head positions and loadout/convergence settings for each individual plane.) One other is that AH successfully transmits an atmosphere. Each plane is so well modelled (performance wise) that flying it even competently requires much practice. So, each engagement creates tension for me. I know there are so many great pilots out there that I truly fear for my safety when engaging. Other games are, to use an AH jingoism, too gamey. You just get a bunch of kids that find that one little thing it takes to dominate everyone else and they'll repeatedly do that thing over and over again. It takes quite a bit of a lot of things to keep your nose above water here no matter what plane you're in. AHers and the HTC team.
