Sigh, had to do it....

Just got the results of the wrist MRI and its not good.  So the "take cast off, pour on the meds" approach to flying Aces High aint working well.  Cartilage damage to right wrist, supposed to see a specialst in a few weeks and the big topic there is surgery.  Aiieee.

Account has been closed/deleted.  Last of the Fighter Perks sacrificed on a foolhearty 262 run.  :)  Tree 1, BD5Pilot 0

Still be patrolling the BBS but since I can't fly, I've shut the account down so I can heal up a bit quicker.

Yup, no quitting cuz I'm angry at the game or whining.  Just wanted to let you folks know, and the friends I've made that I wont be in the Cyber Skies for a while.  I'm hoping for January at this point.  Looking forward to having my right-hand back...being right handed makes for some awful handwriting.  Anyone need ransom notes?  :p

Hope to have my old nick when I return, if not, I hope the nick police approve my application  :D

Not to be mean or insensitive, but can't u fly with the left hand? Just set up 2 buttons on the joystick to toggle engine and WEP. 1 button to fire both weapons. 1 to fire just machine guns. Hat button is not essential, rudder isn't essential either in AH.
Good luck and speedy recovery.

If necessary, get the surgery. In the short term it might suck however, the long-term quality of life will make it a no brainier.

I just talked to a retired fire fighter last week. He had both knees replaced and squeaked about all the pain from post surgery rehabilitation. He also stated that he is very thankful that he had the surgery. The day to day pain and the painkillers that were part of his lifestyle for years are now a thing of the past.

It's the smartest move.

I messed up my shoulder  awhile back and have been off flying up until recently, now I'm doing TOD's and some squad nites. (also an hour here or there when I ditch work which isn't often)

but mostly just TOD's an hour a week..

it's getting better all the time but I won't push it.

That purse fight with Sandman musta been a doozy.

I think Jack would find the courage to sit at a computer, eat meds, and fight through the pain.

Sorry about your wrist ... what a cruel thing to happen to an Aces High devotee.   Maybe in a future version we can fly by thought alone and free cyber from appendages.  Probably not in Version 1.11 -- more like Version 1.111.  Get well quick(ly).

I see...

You've been given the option of never playing AH again or never "touching" yourself again.

You've made your choice.  You slut.
