Pim Fortuyn's mindset had some right-wing extremist elements in it, on the other hand, some of his ideas resembled those usually found with rather left from the middle positioned people. Thus he can't be labeled a regular 'right-wing extremist' or the like.
On some points he was right, on the majority he was wrong. His strongpoint was the ability to recognize problems, his weakness was the inability to develop realistic cures/solutions for them. All in all, if he would have been elected PM, his administration would have resigned by now and his reputation would have been destroyed because of his lack of experience and his aversion towards cooperation with other political groups and institutions.
It's a shame how he met his end, it's a good thing though that he never had a chance to take office and screw up.
