I feel vaguely nauseous writing this  but I have to (S) the Dem's on the election. They could have rubber stamped Jr.'s war on Iraq. Also, the homeland security bill. Then went after the Rep's on the economy issue. Had they done this, they would probably have done better in the election. I belive they stood on their principals instead. (after clinton, its strange to use the words principles, and Democrats in the same paragraph ) Anyway (S) to the lefties.

This pinko-leftist-liberal-leftie happens to think that those Democrats didn't do enough to distinguish themselves from that crook Bush and his agenda.  After his underserved surge in popularity following 9/11 the Democrats became all too timid to oppose the man-boy.  Those "outrageous" incidents like Daschle criticizing the White House's stance on Iraq were the exception rather than the norm, unfortunately - even after it turned out they were lying to the public.  Hopefully the Democrats won't act like such wimps the next time around.

I have my own doubts about Jr.  Even so, IMO,  his immediate popularity following 9.11 was well deserved.  What he did in Afghanistan was measured, and decisive.  The recent action in Yemen indicates that he is still on the job.

Plenty of conservatives and most libertarians do not like war on Iraq either.

I think a major reason for their trouble was not standing up against the war on iraq.  They did rubber stamp pretty much everything put before them, and I think that's why democractic voters didn't care enough about their party to vote for them.

I think FoxNews ahould get some credit, along with the RL radio types

if not for these voices of truth and reason, or at least the other side of the coin, we'd be left with the network news, cnn & msnbc version

I think the american ppl as a whole are smarter and more unified than they were 2 years ago. the dems just realize that fact in time. As long as they have terry, goron and willie as their mouthpieces - their audience will become smaller and smaller

as someone else pointed out in another thread, 9/11 helped the reps and hurt the dems, only because the dems let politics get in front of national security. dumbest thing in the world was to hold up "Home Defense" for the real reason they did. Union vote/cash.

Are you referring to Daschle's embarrassing outburst about the Washington Post article that was a total misrepresentation of fact? Are you suggesting that, even though the Dems had to be smart enough to switch on a TV and see the actual footage of the event (as if someone from the DNC wasn't watching it live), it was ok to lie about it and create political hay? Do you mean the Democrats needed to tell bolder lies?

Not sure if I'm misunderstanding you, but I sure hope I am.

Easymo.

The Democratic Party of John F. Kennedy is GONE, ruined by the likes of Ted, Bill, Hillory and the like ...

The democrats who just got whupped can thank the above parties, and others who failed to have principles, so don't salute them for having them. They haven't demonstrated them.

The Democratic party has left its people, not the other way around.

IMO this is what is killing these politicians nothing but criticisms, name calling, ripping a country apart by creating divisions of rich versus poor, us versus them.  I'd for once love to a Democrat I mean a real Democrat not a left winger, not liberal but a real life Democrat.  A Democrat who comes up with an idea that the majority of the nation can maybe agree upon that is good for the country.  Not ripping things apart playing off poles as if their scared to offend someone.  Heck I'd vote for a LEADER from any party so long as they had the country U.S. Constitution as a priority.  As it stands right now for me it's the Republican party that comes closest.  The 'liberals' the 'left wing' are nothing more than little socialist intent on dragging this country into there system of government.  It's no wonder people from europe and that extention of france some call canada enjoy seeing a liberal in office.  Myself I'd like to see a Democrat step up to the plate and lead.

Well, You guys know what a starry eyed optimist I am.:)  Maybe I read it all wrong, but I don't belive the Dem's march in lock step.  I think that some of them truly stood their ground on the would be, war.  And even more so on the loss of constitutional freedoms, encompassed by the homeland security bill.

BTW. Daschel dont fit into that group IMO.

The Dana Milbank article I had in mind came almost a month after the "embarassing outburst" Daschle I think we are both refering to.  I have no idea what you're talking about in the rest of the paragraph; I was talking about the White House's lies.
