Maybe it is not my place to say anything since I am not a paying subscriber and probably won't be for another year. But as someone who has played their two weeks in the main arena, reads the bulletin boards, and plays head-to-head as much as my time permits, I think that despite all the heated disputes and personal attacks on the bulletin boards that most if not all of the people here are fantastic.

I have had nothing but fun since I downloaded 1.03 (even keeping up with all the whining on the bulletin boards  ).

I don't want to mention names and overlook others of equal merit, but I love flying with anyone here: the veteran aces, the frustrasted newbies, the Luftwaffe fanatics, the bombers, the goon drivers, tank drivers, and even the Hispano head-on dweebs.

The interaction that goes on here reflects what I love best: learning, testing, and improving my flying skills with other interesting and friendly people who have a wide range of skills and experience.

A plea to everyone: don't let pride, frustration, or anger destroy something so great. Wherever people are found there will be conflicts, but try to remember that the overall purpose is for everyone to have fun flying whether you do that solo or in squads, air-to-air or air-to-ground, realistically or arcade style, using carefully planned strategies and tactics or just booming and zooming with cannons.

I hope when I finish my B.S.E.E. about a year from now that the Aces High community will have continued to grow into a huge, diverse group, and that the sim becomes more realistic and entertaining. But even if it is only the same people who are here now with the same sim...

HTC will get my money.

Except for the fact that I can't feel the g's, this is better than reality: after my Mustang gets shot down for the upteenth time, I hop in again and have more fun trying to turn and burn with all of you. Maybe one day I will even learn to shoot straight

I would like to make special mention of Lephturn for rapidly responding to and solving the display problems I experienced when I switched to 1.05 and a Voodoo 5500. Thanks. Right now I am getting about 50 to 60 fps at maximum resolution and it only drops to 30 fps around fleets (though I don't use anti-aliasing at all :P).

Also thanks to everyone who hosts regularly on head-to-head so I can enjoy HTC's creation until I can afford to subscribe

Sincerely,
Stephen the Eagle

<snif> Ah, Stephen, we luv ya man. Can't wait to have you as a regular online friend or enemy. I think everyone needs to step back and relect on the value we have in AH, as you so skillfully pointed out.

Rip, what brand of Motherboard do you have? I have a PIII-550 that I have overclocked at 733mhz. We should be able to squeeze some extra HP outta that thing for you.

banana, an Abit V2 something somthing...hehe, know NOTHING of overclocking since I'm a firm believer that if the engineers had designed it to be overclocked, it would have been made alot easier than it is to an avg. computer user like me!

Well said StrikeEagle...

no matter the faults, what better way to spend idle time?  I find myself logging on whenever I have spare time.  What else is there?  Boxed flight sims? TV?
HTC will get my money as long as it's the best sim around... prolly a long time to come.
