Last time Nate put up his latest and greatest he got pilloried for doing the art on the plane Pyro told him to draw.

If you worked that hard only to get stomped on how interested would you be in providing further news?

Suck it up, gents.  1.11 comes out when HTC says it comes out.  Think of it like a Christmas presant.  Anticipation is 3/4th of the fun  :D

Puck does have a point.  Everytime any news is released, the fanboys start flaming away.

only a small minority flame.. most of us just want to read about the updates and have talks about them. but sadly it only takes one nob to hijack a tread and turn it into a flame fest...

thread starters should be able to remove crap and hijacks from their threads,..

I'm with you SELECTOR, but to be honest I was EMBARRASED by some of the comments on the Kate.  Nate did an awesome job on that skin, and all I heard over the din were complaints about aircraft choice.

I don't know enough about the Kate to comment one way or the other, but I was ashamed at the reaction.

...and anyone who's seen me fly can tell you how shameless I am...

I agree with Puck!

I would love to hear news, but then I will have to read the brabble bullcrap from those who are not totally satisified or did not get what they want.

IMHO all of Nate's work has been nothing but outstanding!  HTC and we are lucky to have him!

In fact, Nate take the rest of the year off, with pay!!  :)

Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

This is perhaps one of the funniest things I've ever read.

You keep using that word... I do not think it means what you think it means.

I didn't think anyone flamed Natedog for his work - I thought the unhappy posters were upset about the choice of plane, which is most likely not under Nate's control anyway.

Natedog's work on the Kate is first-rate; it's a beautiful job.

I'm sure HTC realizes they'll never please all the people all of the time.   To tell the truth, if 100% of us went  "Yay!", "Super!, "Woo-hoo!" every time HTC posted news about a any new feature or aircraft, I'd be scared to death to be a part of this community, for fear there was a brainwashing element buried in the software.

I'm much more interested in people's honest reactions to the new features/planes, and a civil discussion of how they will affect the gameplay, arena balance, etc.   I would think HTC would be also, but maybe not.   Anyway, after years in the online flight sim business, I bet they have a thicker skin than some of us give them credit for, and they're probably just too busy working on stuff to post some news.

Yay! Super! Woo-hoo! Must keep playing AH... Must not stop to eat or sleep...

And everyone thought the new lighting effects were just to make the game look cool :)

I'de just delete the accounts of anyone who whined of anything I did.

I'de rather have customers who were happy and civil, than a bunch of malcontents.

And remember, voicing your opinion and whining are two completely different things...it's all in the delivery.

That's one of the best ideas I've heard in a long time.

PS  I also agree with Puck.  Why stoke the fires of the board with news and updates?  One solution I can see is to reorganize the boards around player participation:

Aces - only allow posts from players subscribing for 1 yr
Generals - only allow posts from CM and CTs
Pilots - 6 months play time
Newbies - less than 6 months (for gameplay questions)
Leaders - only allow posts from people who've contributed positively to game.  Ya gotta apply to HTC for this priviledge.
