13th TAS Website
« on: November 12, 2002, 09:17:44 AM »
Just wondered if you guys could give me a thumbs up or down regarding my first effort at building a website. Speak the truth as you will not hurt my feelings.

It is about a third complete, as I will be adding content specific to the general AH population(helpful and entertaining stuff). I have alot of tweaking of little errors to do yet, but overall, I just wondered what some of you experts think.:)

Thanks in advance!

not bad ....

what did you use to make it?

the "13th TAS" graphic is a bit rough...(not the spining 1 that is small enough you dont see rough edges)

not all the Pilot bio's are working

otherwise similar to mine :)

chk ours (III/Jabostaffel) out and let me know what you think...

PS. i know alot of ours is still "under construction" too (CO is always too bzy to give approval for the finishing touches LOL)
I don't know what to put here yet.

Nice..but lots of red...and if you are at all colorblind, that turns it to grey, which is what your background is.

:)

Still, nice site

Excellent first site Rude! I'm far from an expert but from what I do know about site design that might help are that there are a few things that you could change.

Spinning graphics aren't terribly popular anymore.

Your top main graphic is a bit too ragged and large. You could either lighten up the bevel a bit, or add a drop shadow so that the rough edges smoothe out a bit.

Well done though, it's a lot tougher putting a website together than people think. You did a great job.

One other thing, if you want to get rid of that "javascripts source" link and have either Perl or PHP, let me know and I'll script up a date/time script for you.

Looks great to me.  I guess I'll make comment on the text rather than the structure of the site:

"who's" should be changed to "whose"
remove comma after "destroy"
"thier" should be "their"
remove comma after "lads"
remove comma after "online"

Thanks guys....

As I stated before, I have some editing and corrections to make....I just got a head of steam going to get this thing finished, as I'm using all of my flying time to build it.

I agree with the title text...not really happy with it, but for now it will suffice.

Again, thanks to all of you and yes, Manx, I'll gladly take the script if you have the time...just drop it in an email to me.

Cyas Up(when I get this thing done):)

Stop pickin on me!!!!!

:)

When you type 110 words per minute, mistakes happen.

Of course, I only type 20 words per minute so I shouldn't make any:)

In Wolfgang Ranier voice...

"My eyes!  They burn!  The goggles do nothing!"

Just kidding!

good first attempt.  the main graphic is a little rough, but it's not bad.  :)

nice rude.
One suggestion is for navigating the site.
IMHO there should be a way to tell (by interaction with the menu on the left side) where in the site you are..

I.e. when you pick on a menu item (from the left)
the menu should somehow reflect where you are .
Either by having the text turn bold, or expand, or whatever..

just a suggestion.

Great start!

Rude, I have some Pony shots to die for. Drop me a mail.

Also toying with the Website thing, I like the script printing, just what I'm looking for.

Drop me a note and I'll send a link. And tell me about your service and set up. Looks interesting. Time to learn something new :)
