Dweeb - English Dictionary
« on: November 12, 2002, 03:56:18 PM »
It's been a while since I last played AH, and only recently (about 2 weeks ago) have I gotten back into the game. My, how things have changed...

It seems that channel one has become a virtual battleground in its own right. We hear jokes, sneers, playful goads, compliments..but what we love to hear the most is the word "DWEEB".  I have studied the behavior of both the accuser and the target of this verbage in an attempt to facilitate my own understanding, and hopefully I can now enlighten my online bretheren with some of my findings...So, I present the "Dweeb - English" dictionary, part one for your evaluation.

Phrase: "You HO dweeb!"
Trans:   "Your brilliant front-quarter attack has left me defenseless, and my evasive actions were no match for your gunnery skills."

Phrase: "You Spit/Niki (insert plane of choice name) Dweeb!"
Trans: Your airframe is capable of executing offensive and defensive maneuvers that my skill level is incapable of countering. Next time, please fly an aircraft that is easier for me to destroy."

Phrase: "You rammed me, you Dweeb!"
Trans:   "It is my personal belief that never in the history of aerial warfare has a mid-air collision occured. Until now!"

Phrase: "Alt monkey."
Trans:  "You are beyond the effective range of my weapon systems. Be a good sport and come down here so I can shoot you. Please."

Phrase: "Run for home, you dweeb!"
Trans :  "Would you mind turning around and slowing down so I can shoot you squarely in the face? I'm trying for perk points here, after all!"

Phrase: "Everyone get to base (base name) RIGHT NOW!"
Trans : " You only THINK you pay to play this game. You were actually DRAFTED."

That's it so far. If anyone happens upon an interesting word or phrase in the MA, feel free to add to the list! (Note: the preceeding has been a joke. Lighten up and laugh)

:D

Becareful with the use of the word Dweeb.

It is controlled by the International Brotherhood of Dweebs as part of the commonwealth of our members. If you insist on using this word again we will be forced to send a number of large P-47 Dweebs around to your house to break your kneecaps!

Word: "ACM"
Trans: "Always complimenting myself". Often used in conjunction with skill associated with a certain online flight sim that is generally perceived to contain inaccuracies in flight models, gunnery models, lethality models, and blaring historical descrepencies by it's adoring fan base (see thread (any thread will do) as reference to above).

mandoble .. i know you are not english speaking normally ... you are from spain right?

well to bite....

Dweeb is a saying from my childhood (late 1970's early 1980's)

it was about the same as nerd, dork, loser, retard and so on.

ie: you pencil necked dweeb! (to a nerd with a pocket protector)

hope that helps the grasp of english slang... i recommend THIS site for all your slang needs :D
I don't know what to put here yet.

Does this mean there might be some grainy black and white clandestine footage of Spit pilot autopsies soon to emerge from Area 51?
:D
